I ended up buying these. I am happy with how they look, but only had them a couple of weeks, so too early to tell how they will hold up!

They look like all the other tow mirrors as best I can tell. The blind spot sensors are in the LED tail lights. The small yellow light that indicates something in the blindspot is in the upper left of the mirror.

I sure wish they power folded. Mine fits in the garage, but I have to reach out and fold in the driver side mirror first. Seems like a dumb place to cut corners.
There is light and heavy setting for electric trailer brakes. Over 10k pounds is heavy. Sounds like something may be wrong with your controller or trailer brakes. My trailer is a little less than yours-5400- but 8.0volts locks up the wheels. I run 7 volts normally.
With 892 in payload left, if you want to stay inside your limits you should be looking at trailers with a GVWR of 7k or less. If you plan for 10% (recommended minimum) that is 700 pounds plus your hitch. Many will tell you 15%. As you correctly pointed out, your truck will max out on payload...
