No doubt it's rare for a manufacturer to spend big bucks designing and testing a new vehicle and then keep the previous design rolling down the assembly line. Originally they said it was to offer a low cost option for commercial and entry buyers.
I recall someone with a new 3500 sharing similar issues. The dealer was little to no help so he tore it open. I think he discovered some peculiarities and shared it with his dealer. Sorry I don't recall the details but it was about 6 months back and he expected something positive to come from...
Tempered glass is known to explode on it's own depending on manufacturing and quality issues. A few years back there was a rash of news stories about spontaneous sunroof and shower glass explosions. I couldn't find any stories about ceramic tinted glass causing explosions.
If you are worried...
No doubt. FCA dropped the ball and has no plan to address it. In the meantime until it's time to buy something else, aids help to keep comfortable in hot outdoor temperatures.
Ceramic tint placed on the pano and throughout definitely helps. I avoided the front windshield but some report good results.
We had one afternoon of 90 degrees the other day which made me aware it was time to flip the a/c hack valve off again.
Yikes, Allstate's $250 rebate sounds like no holds barred data mining.
I'm debating about buying an extended warranty but not sure how long I will keep this truck. I think there's only been one minor issue aside from the "it's functioning as expected" crap a/c. and the hack is working fine for...
Not a bad deal unless you really wanted to buy something different. Unless I needed right away I'd probably wait a few more months when the more abundant 2020s are discounted with better selection of colors etc off the lot.
You may need to remain frustrated. There's an interesting link below.
In a nutshell, browning tires is the norm for today's tires. Tire manufacturers add chemicals (anti ozonant) to tires to increase their longevity. The solution is cleaning tires more frequently with soap, water and a stiff...
Vehicle enthusiast forums are probably equally balanced with critical owners and fan bois. The latter are sometimes more vociferous than someone trying to understand an issue or vent on what is likely to be their second most expensive purchase.
I've seen some vehicle forums where fan bois...
I assume this isn't a 'tune' so there shouldn't be an increase in horsepower or torque. If so it just remaps the throttle for more fuel with less pedal movement. I'm surprised so many are glowing over the performance difference. Reviews I've seen elsewhere say there isn't anything different...
Maybe to the excessive, FCA bumped up tow/payload ratings for 2020. Depending how equipped tow/payload are 12750/2300lbs.
I agree with timbrens for occasional max towing. They are a couple hundred bucks.
I included everything but I also don't do business with shady dealers. Weed them out up front via email. I avoid initial phone calls as I don't want sales calls for the next umpteen years.
There should be a slew of items added. Looking at another 2020 Laramie Level 2 window sticker ($4895):
Automatic–Dimming Exterior Passenger Mirror
4G LTE Wi–Fi Hot Spot
19–Speaker Harman Kardon® Premium Sound
5–Year SiriusXM® Traffic™ Service...
Wow, I'm surprised they are allowed to sell parts from those crashed vehicles. I guess they can always pressure test them.
Those tanks are pretty good size. Shipping is probably a bit expensive. It looks like IIHS is located in Virginia.
Gotta wonder how many different 33 gal tanks there are...
Maybe a better way to look at the benefits of a larger fuel tank is the range it provides when the truck is working hard with single digit MPGs. It's no fun needing to stop at remote, low quality gas stations every 100-150 miles.
$150 sounds like a great deal. Is it used?
Someone mentioned problems with cold mornings. They said even with temperature set high, cold air blew through the vents. I observed that this morning while driving during engine warm-up. It was only low 40F's but still felt cold air flowing through the vents while temp was set to high. That...
AdBlock and a privacy friendly browser like Brake and Firefox.
It has to be expensive and labor intensive these days with software updates, and keeping on top of all the virus and identity hacks. And on occasion they can get pulled into crazy lawsuits. Online advertising revenue is a big...
