Good idea about the adding vinyl to tailgate areas. Mine just started squeaking on the upper driver's side but succumbed after lightly cleaning the paint and rubber mount contact points.
I'm not fond of the LED bar light looks but that's some power. I'd be too nervous with the recent EPA crack downs and passing AZ state emissions. It looks like Whipple requires an unlocked tuned PCM. I be surprised if FCA honors the factory warranty as the owner claims and gawd knows that power...
I agree. Originally I thought I was imagining it. Gotta wonder how much effort and concern FCA has when it puts new features into production. It makes no sense to botch this simple feature let alone both when it lowers and repositions. This feature has been around for over 10 years and FCA still...
On the other hand, it may not be a good idea to wait to buy given PSA's record and footprint. I bet the proposed PGA/FCA merger is an overall negative. In one case I recall reading an article that PSA's goal is to funnel Ram profits for better designed euro vehicles.
The FCA culture seems to be one of attracting customers with the best discounts, adding extra creature comforts while offseting increased costs with planned obsolescence and less production development time normally used to control quality/reliability. It's bad enough they do it but then FCA...
I tried backing up the other day with the tailgate down and the auto brakes decided otherwise. There are a handful of scenarios when one needs to backup when the tailgate is down. I'll look for an override for the next time.
What's the source for your "Ram data?"
Those Ram numbers are lower than what some dealers have told customers. Some here report the dealer say ~70 deg vent output temps indicate the system is functioning as expected.
I've noticed the same thing. The idea is to see behind as well as possible marked parking space lines or curbs etc. It isn't confidence inspiring or any advantage to only see ground/lines nearly straight down that you already drove past.
I might try to position the 'D' side mirror position so...
Yes, exactly. It's a confused hollow argument to suggest anyone with a new $50-70k vehicle with inadequate a/c lose a few thousand dollars. Fortunately we can remain comfortable with the $15 a/c hack while still keeping pressure on the infidels (FCA etc).
Summer is coming as well as possible...
Au contraire. I get your desire to hand wave the issue away and declare it an interpretive piece of art, but details are important when discussing any vehicle system's performance including the HVAC system. It would be insane to expect an HVAC trade school to train techs to assess system...
I try to always take the path of least resistance by online negotiations with high volume dealers that have great vehicle selection while selling at invoice, give holdback and all qualifying rebates, discounts, and incentives. That and timing will get you the best deal. All said and done, you...
Unless we knew someone at the factory, there's really no way of knowing until summer rolls around. FCA has denied the issue all along so I wouldn't expect them to add the cost or risk of an a/c design or production change.
One can always minimize the a/c load by avoiding the pano roof and/or...
And unfortunately, those rare dealers willing to attempt a fix only makes the problem worse. So far we are pretty much on our own with discomfort or added out of pocket costs (tinted windows, a/c hack).
Due to so many viewer complaints and concerns, the TFL guys did an a/c video comparo that was about as apples to apples as one could do with a 2019 gen 5 and a F150 on a cloudy Colorado summer day and it wasn't close. As most report here, the a/c vent output temps were dissimilar.
Ditto, I refuse to let the lowest form of auto tech touch my vehicles. Letting others do my maintenance is a slippery slope where I lose touch and stop lifting the hood. It's part of the experience until the cybertruck comes out. :)
Like most, I experienced two problems with the first change -...
They make pretty good commercials.
Many enjoy advances in tech especially the type that take over drudgery/chores. It's hard to say no to this stuff when it makes your like easier and in the case of backup assist may reduce your risk of divorce. :)
