I feel like you're oversimplifying this to try to make your point. Your radio is designed to be changed. The volume is designed to be changed. Oil, is designed to be changed. Whether you like it or not, the pcm, bcm, or any other part of the computer system is not to be tampered with by anyone...

Well, a couple things come to my mind. Sure he could absolutely buy a battery. That doesn't solve the mystery of why the other one went bad though. Also, that battery is replaceable under a free replacement warranty. Thirdly, I dont know if he has etorque, but doesn't those batteries cost...
