I had another look at this thread and realized there are two salespeople involved. The first guy (#1) responded to my online inquiry with I'm here, how can I help. I responded by asking about what the add-ons were. The answer came from a different guy (#2). I then said this was a nonstarter...
I told the dealer the add-ons were a "nonstarter". This is the reply:
So you will happily take my discounts but wont take our aftermarkets ? Which still comes to a 17K discount ?
There's 10% which is RAM's national promotion and the rest is just listed as dealer discount. One red flag is the $3000 in add-ons (lojack, nitrogen tires, sealants) on top of the $61k. Of course I wouldn't accept any of those but haven't challenged them on it yet.
I'm not really in the...
RAM sent me a "private offer" of $2000 off a 2023 so even though I'm happy with my low milage 2020 Laramie, I thought I'd have a look. A local dealer has a 2023 Limited I am considering. MSRP of $79500 going for $61000, which is about 23% off.
I see these great deals for a new truck from Mark...
The included jack is a joke. That multi piece rod broke the first time I used it. Fortunately I had some gaff tape to patch it together just good enough to lower the spare but the jack itself was not up to the task. The rod is so flimsy you can't count on it to turn the jack screw. I wasn't...
I took my 2020 in to get fixed for this in April, so 2 years old and a mere 14k miles at the time, though it had been broken for a few months I'm sure. Walked in on a Friday about 4:00, no appointment, not the dealer where I bought it. Was done and on my way in an hour. Way to go RAM.
That...
I rarely used my sun visor swung out to the left, but when I did I found it would swing back and bump my head when I turned left. Odd. Well it happened again and I decided to investigate. I could see that a plastic piece that held the metal rod up into the roof had broken and by the time I...
Started with a Mazda B2000 in 1987 because I needed a cheap ride ($7k new). Got used to the utility of a pickup and moved up in (mid) size with a Dakota in 1997. Had been thinking about replacing it for 5 years before I finally went all in with the 2020 Laramie beauty. That was an upsize...
I just noticed this a few days ago. The needle of the battery level in the instrument cluster moves back and forth just a tiny amount every few seconds. Has is always done that or is this something new that my 21 month old truck is telling me?
I've run into an $85 and even a $75 limit in my area (San Jose, CA). With 87 gas already around $4.25 (and higher) while still going up, I can't understand why some places have such limits.
I use something like this:
Maxsa Innovations 37358 Park Right 21" x 11" x 2" Parking Mat
from Amazon. This isn't exactly like the one I have, but very close.
It comes with a sticky back, but it's not strong enough to hold very long, so I put some concrete screws in the floor. Works great.
I had a 1997 with the V6 and it only had 156k miles when I sold it after getting the 1500 last year. Didn't like the V6, low on both power and gas milage. The truck was a good size though and a nice size upgrade from my 1987 Mazda B2000.
After a year with the "big" truck, don't think I could...
That's a lot of new trucks in a short amount of time. Did you take a bath on the trade-ins or were you able to do well due to the lack of used trucks that we hear about on the forum?
