Exactly. They’re so complex and crammed. Audi’s twin turbo V8s aren’t much better. When I go to cars and coffee I always spend time at the classics section. There’s a reason you’ll find ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s cars, especially Mercedes. No way modern cars are lasting that long.
They’re nice cars. Owned a few over the years. My favorite was my ‘19 E63 wagon. That was a unicorn. Super spendy out of warranty. Wife’s ‘17 GLE63s I brought in for what I thought was “just” service B. Found out I had leaky timing cover gaskets on both sides. This is at 56,000 miles. All in...
That’s literally what the Mercedes rental specialist told me. He walked me to the car to show me how to adjust the seats. I told him I grew up in the 80s and my dad’s ‘85 Caprice had those. He chuckled and said “I’ve no idea how they’re gonna sell this thing for $50K”.
Do they go back and install them when they’re in stock? My wife’s Mercedes’ is getting some warranty work and the rental doesn’t have electric adjustable seats. It’s a crank for up and down, a lever for forward and back and a turning wheel for back tilt. The 90s called asking for their Mercedes’...
That’s very close to the email I got 10 days ago. In my case it took 7 days to get the truck from port to the dealership.
I reached out to MD today. They said they had an inventory of 400 vehicles drop shipped in the last week. 260 are pre-sold like our trucks. They’re working currently...
Congratulations brother. Safe travels. Enjoy the beast!
I’m still waiting on that phone call. At least I’m not checking the Ram tracking website every hour. My truck was delivered on the 13th so it’s exactly 7 days today. Hopefully no transport damage.
Really drive both and see if the V6 is an absolute no go for you. If money is an issue, don’t buy the V8 and strain yourself. But also you don’t wanna spend $50 grand on a vehicle and have buyer’s remorse. So while we all will have different opinions, take it with a grain of salt and do what...
Yeah I guess nothing I can do but wait. I don’t want to email him and pester him. I really would rather not pay $2 grand for shipping either. I’m off duty next Monday and can probably get someone to pickup my Tuesday night but it gets super dicey from there. If I have to skip two shifts I might...
Have they reached out to you? The tracker says my truck was delivered on the 13th. My schedule is sooo unbelievably tight. I can possibly make it work flying out next Monday and driving Monday-Tuesday. After that I’m working for 3 weeks straight. Ughhh.
