Just for fun drive a 4th gen with air. I found it much more supple than the coil on that gen. On the 5th gen it's the other way around.

The sales guy had me do it on a test drive on a wet day, and we pealed out, tcs light flashing. Then he had me repeat in awd, and it was okay. I've to say on a truck with an open diff and awd + tcs is pretty good. But add an anti-spin or elocker and you remove all doubt.

By the way, I ended up getting a truck with anti-spin, but had to drive hundreds of miles and get the Etorque, which I wasn't as keen on, to get it.

Mine work largely as expected. It doesn't need to be super dark. What I find to be annoying is I need to have the turn signal stock in the forward position, which takes it out of range of my fingers when I want to signal a turn.
