    Start/Stop Feature & EPA Action

East Tennessee, Summer temp and humidity both top 90. Ram AC set to 70. It keeps up. The big deal which affects comfort here is the humidity, and the Ram keeps it under control. Don't know if it would manage at 110 degrees, still a few ways to disable it as needed.

    Start/Stop Feature & EPA Action

My lady has a Ford Ranger with the Turbo 4, and start stop (AutoStart). AutoSart is as annoying as can be in that truck. The system just uses the starter and starter battery, no "just fired up" torque assist like the Ram. Also a noticeable lag between when moving one's foot from the brake to the...

    Start/Stop Feature & EPA Action

Unlikely as there are still CAFE considerations. I actually like the start/stop feature in my Ram, also have the big battery pack and assist thing on the accessory drive. It works seamlessly and I can disable it a couple different ways. If you really want to disable your's, one of these gizmos...

    Do not update

I'll try a soft reset (reboot) on mine tomorrow when I go out for some aluminum channel and whatever I dream up overnight, stayed home today having fun setting up a gun cart. Hopefully get a good result on this first-world UConnect problem tomorrow.

    Do not update

Took a good drive today after the update two days ago. Still FUBAR. Seems the next 3 steps will be: Soft reset (holding down volume and tuner buttons) Hard reset (disconnect battery for 5-10 minutes, and step on brakes for 15 seconds to bleed off any charge) Warranty visit to the dealership

How difficult is it to switch the rear end from 3.21 to 3.92 gears?

Only thing I can add is I bought my Rebel in great part because of the 3.92 gear ratio. Wakes the truck up and makes the A8 shine. Still gets 18mpg overall according to the EVIC (aka lie-o'meter). Wish I knew more about if any other programming is involved or if speed (and speedometer) come...

    Do not update

I'll check mine again tomorrow, also will watch here if someone finds a reset/reboot procedure to fix it. Or I will have a 3rd reason to go to the dealer for warranty service.

Only two gauges? 3 axles? Pitch/Roll looks like a Jeep and not a Ram. Do these look right?

    Do not update

Just came across this thread. When I got home from a morning errand, got a notice for an update, gave the go-ahead. A little while later, had to turn the truck around, screen said update completed. Clicked "what's new," meh but whatever. Backup camera worked. Now I'll have to look for any of...

    V-8

I'm a bit older, almost twice your years. I remember a Dodge engine called the Slant Six. It was a popular platform for a bit of rodding. Header, higher compression slugs, 4 barrel manifold and a carb to match, and a few other items. A few grinders even made some good cams for them. They were...

Newbie and never thought I would be here

If buying new, take some time to understand the options. RWD or 4WD? Which axle ratios? What will you be using the truck for (around town, towing, play, real off-road)? I'm sure you found the right forum to help with any questions. I'm new here too, this forum is the best among several I have...

    V-8

I'm a bit old-school and like the V8, the off-the-line torque. Also the exhaust sound and am pleased with what Ram provides as an exhaust system for the Rebel. I don't think the I6 is ready for prime time yet, maybe another year or two. It certainly has potential. My lady has a Ford Ranger...

What did you WITH your Ram this weekend

Not weekend, but today. A drive to a specialty store to see if they can order something for me, then Lowes for some lamp parts and paint for a back porch light project, and finally the grocery store for a short list of items. The event of the trip was the thunderstorm which opened up on the way...

Ram Rebel in The Great Smoky Mountains

I was developing some issues that day, Have to push me quite a bit to bring it out, getting rear ended a half dozen times and flipped was certainly enough. Was starting my draw in case whoever it was came back to finish what he started. Hearing just a few words among those approaching was enough...
