I installed the same TB on my 17 and it was a noticeable difference....That's why I went ahead and installed one on the new truck.

Not sure what the drill is for? The cover is just removable push pins and the trimming was done with a jigsaw. I like the finished look of the trimmed cover installed.....and congrats on your new truck order...🍻

The Vararam intake relies on constant airflow through the grille of the truck. When the truck does not require cooling the active shutters close which then reduces the air entering the intake. Removing the top 3 blades gives you constant flow
