Yeah, know what "dead pedal" is, I have owned a few Cummins powered Ram trucks before. But...this wasn't dead pedal as I've ever heard of someone reporting on the forums. The usual dead pedal is usually a few seconds and then it will finally take off. My issue was probably 15-20 seconds, held...
Welp, I did way too many things to fix this to nail down exactly what I did "right". No throttle problems this morning.
So, here's what I did....disconnected the IBS to have the computer reset the charging profile that it has learned for the battery, hooked up a charger and fully charged the...
Problem is...."cold" start for me was 100deg for the first start and 108deg for the second. It has been damn hot, but I'll throw a wrench on all the grounds.
Well, kinda interesting issue arose today. Started up the truck, pulled out of the garage far enough to shut the door and took off pretty slowly. Gave it throttle and it revved up to 1500rpm and no more. Gave it more throttle and truck started jerking a bit. Let off the throttle to make a stop...
Here is the Everflow part Number 615P034-NL installed. The heater hose clamp was working great, so decided to put the valve in and not damage the factory hoses by leaving the clamp on too long. Here in AZ, I'm only gonna need the valve open a few months a year, so didn't want the clamp on that long.
You are 100% correct. I went to TSC (tractor supply company) because I needed a propane refill and noticed their DEF was on sale. So, I went inside and took a look at their own brand of DEF and noticed the packaging looked very similar to the Peak sitting next to it....... Yup, produced in the...
I'm understand that diesels are direct injection. I'm just saying it's kinda strange to have the timing cover "under" the valve cover. Guess I'm used to the old school motors where everything was separate and allowed easy access to things. Hell, I had to remove the entire intake manifold on my...
Use some Simple Green and wash it off gently with the hose. Very simple. My dealer cleaned up what they could reach by hand, I did the rest with Simple Green.
Here is a little update for my DEF consumption.
Filled to the top at 1021 miles since the dealership DID NOT fill it when I bought it.
Added 2.5 gal exactly today (I had calculated out roughly when I was gonna need to fill it) at 3186 miles.
I am averaging about 23mpg over the 2165 miles on the...
My driver's side is now 54 and pass side is 50 without the clamp, the system seems to be working better. Why?......don't know. I took the clamp off when I took it to the dealership for the oil leak. The records from them say they didn't touch the system, only fixed the oil leak. But maybe they...
Welp....got the truck back from the dealership. Here's one for all of you to scratch your heads about. They replaced the intercooler hose that goes into the intake. I know that diesels and gas turbo'ed engines have a bit more blow-by than a normally aspirated engine, but I've only got 2800 miles...
Nope, leak is from the top of the engine. The oil is easily seen around the thermostat housing and in the valley where the turbo is. There is no way a leaking filter would track up to the top of the engine. The oil filter area on the driver's side of the engine is totally dry. Service manager...
