Hi Wright 0315,
My RAM reached shipping state on 5/14 also. I am hoping to take delivery in time for a trip in early June. How did you get your estimated arrival time. I haven't received an estimate from either dealer or RAM chat. Also, what region of the country are you in? (I am in...
Got some great news today - my truck is built and now just awaits transport to Northern Cal!
For all those still waiting to get out of D1... I know how you feel. Keep the faith.
Congratulations! I am neck and neck with you. Moved to Paint yesterday. It's in final inspection today. Very excited.
Still anxious to see the build sheet -- that isn't available yet. But I know from this forum that it often gets delayed a few days.
Gorgeous photos. Both your truck and the scenery.
I'm sure our Guv will use our $ very efficiently on totally appropriate items. I expect he will be sending you a bill for including such beautiful background in photos.
I hit D1 on 4/16. My first report of production started this morning. So just under 30 days.
My wait was on the long side, but not unheard of. Hopefully your truck will move thru D1 faster than mine.
I concur with Adam. My assumption was hugely simplified as a single down payment with essentially zero monthly lease payment. The reason is that I wanted to understand the relative pricing between 2, 3 and 4 year leases. I was surprised to find that year 3 is cheap but year 4 is expensive...
You are 100% right. I used list price in my calculations which isn't what I am paying. Nor is anybody else who listens to Silent Bob.
For your case of $50k price, scale everything by 70.5%. In other words, the "$36k" would actually be $25.4k.
I'm not trying to convince anybody to lease...
Note: I misquoted the amount financed in my original posting. It is corrected now. Big thanks to Ikjk for catching things.
Never leased a car before, but got some good advice from my brother-in-law. This will be my first truck and I'm only 80% certain that I will like it. So I like viewing...
Your fact trumps my guess. Thanks for correcting the record. And ignore my previous speculation. I have no idea why some people are seeing active air dam deletes.
Still, I won't get upset if mine doesn't have the feature. There are too many things to like about the vehicle.
Yousers!
I ordered a RAM1500 because I thought it was the best truck out there. Now I find out that Fords can park on their sides.... especially handy on those narrow streets.
Excellent video -- thanks for posting it.
After watching the video, I did a short web search. I understand that trucks with air suspensions already lower the truck at speed (less than 1" I think). The air dam extends ~2.5". The sites I read says that FCA deletes the air dam on trucks with...
Seems like they should offer to install the Active Air Dam for $85 when it becomes available. That would be fair.
Anybody know what the impact of deleting this feature is? Slight change in mileage perhaps?
Can't help you with your question. Fortunately, sgk already gave a great response. But I can point out that you have a great looking truck. Blacking out the trim will make it spectacular! Would love to see pics if you decide to go forward with the black out treatments.
Think you are being pretty tough on yourself. These trucks are a big chunk of change ... it's incredibly exciting but also stressful. And the industry is struggling to meet demand which means delays and mistakes.
This is a hugely supportive forum. OK to share concerns and disappointments. But...
Same old, same old....
Last week my dealer escalated 2 levels up (to Regional Manager's boss) who reported that my RAM would enter production 5/10 (yesterday). My dealer showed me a report showing estimated build complete on 5/13.
Today RAM Chat reported that the build has not started. They...
Thanks -- this is great info. Seems like there are some roads in Oregon (maybe other states too?) where even 4WD vehicles with snow tires are required to carry chains, even if they aren't required to install them. Or they can have studded tires installed. Good to know beforehand that they...
