I'll be the first to say that I hate the factory Goodyears that are on the 22s on my truck. The exec that put street tires on a pickup should be kicked in the crotch. That said, they trailer just fine, and the low sidewalls do help with stability at speed. My boat is around 7500 lbs wet...
I understand that...which is my point. If you're geared that deeply then at 75-80 MPH revs are way above where they need to be. Hence the need for an additional overdrive. I should clarify that my '18 Expedition also has the trailer package with the deeper rear-end and is also in 8th gear on...
Incredibly impressive mileage for these trucks, that's for sure.
For me, I think I figured out the perfect description for my mileage issues. I go up a fairly steep hill on my way home from work every day. It's about 2 miles long, 45 MPH, and the other day I realized that once I hit about 40...
Mostly because this drain plug drips all over the axel. Anything to keep it cleaner is better in my experience.
Admittedly, the filter location is just horrible so I will end up spilling anyway, but I'd like to avoid as much cleanup as possible.
This truck has a stupidly long dipstick, and I know my extractor tube won't come close to the bottom so I haven't even tried. I know on my previous GM it got hung up on something and left about a quart in the pan, and on my Ford I only get about 2/3 of the oil out with it.
In fact, the only...
That is impressive...and crazy. I don't get above 18 on highway trips, and I rarely drop below 17 in city/suburban driving. I have the same setup (5.7 etorque/3.92/hard bed cover).
For my typical fishing trip, the 33 gallon tank is the difference between being able to drive straight to and home from the ramp vs. stopping for fuel in a packed gas station in weekend beach traffic with a 24' boat behind me.
I learned that the hard way when I traded my former Yukon XL (32...
So far I'm pretty happy with mine. Absolutely love the ride, the power, the interior (especially the driver's seat), the storage nooks throughout the vehicle, the range with the 33 gallon tank, and infotainment system. I've done a 625 mile round-trip run in her and it was by far the best...
I never used to get extended warranties on my vehicles because there was very little that I couldn't diagnose and fix myself if it went bad. My 2 current vehicles, though, are so packed full of sealed/one-time-use components that it's not worth the risk. As noted above...got a bad tail-light...
Just my opinion, but there's no way on this earth I would buy one of these trucks with the 23 gallon tank. I had to look for 4 months to find the configuration I wanted (and still missed a couple of things), but the 33 gallon tank was at the top for me. I do tow with it, so that drives a good...
My last 3 SUVs have all been white, and all of them got spots that look like rust on the tailgate. It's something environmental, because either rubbing compound or Clay bar has removed it. Haven't seen it on my white Ram yet, but I assume it is just a matter of time.
Had a similar experience when my Corvette shorted out the entire electrical system 7 days into ownership. Took the dealer 2 weeks to figure it out, and it turned out to be a chafed wiring harness buried under the driver's seat. I was miserable the whole time they had it, and made myself sick...
My '18 Expedition has start/stop and it is not very good. Shut it off every time I get in the car. My Ram etorque is completely seemless and I never shut it off. Definitely sets the bar for OSS.
I had them on my previous GMC Canyon. Those tires are fantastic, and I plan to put them on the Ram shortly. I had 35,000 miles on them when I traded the truck and they had well over half tread depth remaining. The ride was also amazing at highway speeds.
Not sure how "A/T" they really are...
I have an '18 Expedition Max Limited with the 3.5 EB and my 2020 Ram limited, both of which I use to tow a 7500 lb boat around. The EB torque hits lower and definitely pulls harder off the line. That said, the Hemi does just fine, and above 15 mph it's pretty much a dead tie. The gas mileage...
I'm pretty happy with mine so far (3500 miles). Interestingly enough, my gas mileage appears to be about the same whether I am driving city or highway. I fluctuate between 17.3 MPG and 18.1 MPG and that's it. Probably could use another overdrive with the 3.92 rear.
