It'll make a huge difference... I tow my 7500 lb boat with the same setup (3.92/ET/33 gallon/air suspension) and it is quite stable on the highway. Mileage still sucks at around 9-10 MPG at highway speeds, but the 33 gallon tank makes it palatable.
Sorry to stomp on the 3.21 thread...so I'll...
Just did the first half of a 2200 mile round trip and ended up netting 16.2 on the guage, 16.08 hand calc, nearly all interstate driving. Was hoping for better, but while 70 MPH speed limits don't help the efficiency, they certainly are better for the overall drive.
Side note - with the 33...
I'd probably just use a few lines of this stuff. It comes in a variety of widths and sticks to aluminum very well. Have used it on several boat trailers for step areas. Might be easier and cleaner than a spray or roll-on material...
Funny...mine does it mostly when the temps are warm, and it's the front that sags. Glad I'm not the only one that sees it. Once I open the door to get in it levels out.
Well, after getting sick of the rear sliding around in the rain with the factory Goodyears, I broke down and put the Terrain contact HTs on my Ram instead of the Expy. The ride is quiet, mileage hasn't changed, wet traction is exceedingly good, they track well in the corners, and I just took...
6.2 had a way better torque curve than the 5.3 and was definitely the better towing motor. That said, the hard top on my boat with the radar on top basically becomes a hard parachute at speed. My previous boat did not have the hard top and was only a little lighter, and I saw an extra 2 MPG...
I don't think it's all that hard on the motor. That RPM range isn't exactly high revs for this engine, and it keeps you in the powerband while towing. With my boat (7500 lbs) at highway speed I get 8-9 MPG, which exactly matches what I get in my '18 Expedition with the EcoBoost V6...which...
If I wasn't hauling a 7500 lb boat and fishing gear, I'd have gotten the 3.21 rear. I do a lot of highway driving along with my towing, and the MPG just sucks with the 3.92s.
It would be great if they offered the 3.55 rear with the Hemi. That would kind of sit in the sweet spot for my...
I run an R3 with just the normal window mount. That 12v plug on top turns off eventually...or the R3 does it itself. I have accidentally left it plugged in on many an evening when I get home from work and I'm the morning it is turned off.
Must be a shortage of plastic frame plugs because of the pandemic, too. There is a thread going on the Ford Expedition site about missing plugs letting water in on those as well.
Tough times if you can't even get the holes plugged before the car rolls out the door.
Yeah, I would agree. However, with the deal I got on mine, and the accidents I nearly got into because of the stupid magnifying mirror on the passenger side, it was worth it. It's rare that I screw up an option in a vehicle purchase, but this one definitely goes into the "live and learn" column.
Yeah, I am not surprised you're having trouble finding one without the tow mirrors. However, don't forget that they are at least power-folding on the '21s. I would probably still have changed them out.
I ended up going with the Infotainment aftermarket package on mine. Not cheap, but by the...
I agree with the post above. Snipping tool should allow a screen shot of nearly anything. I have used it to get around similar issues in the past for wiring diagrams and other schematics.
I have an older oil udder (original) and while I did get it to work I am not sure it is any better than the two-bag method would be. It barely fits into the space above the steering box so it's rough to get it out without dumping some of it. Granted, it was better than nothing, but still not...
I think my tow mirrors did stick out a little further, but I never got to tow with them on. Like I said, the large magnifying area on the passenger side was just incredibly annoying to me. Every time I checked that mirror on the highway it looked like the car in the right lane was in the bed...
