So far I’ve had the back sliding window leak, third brake light leak, stock tire blow out on the Highway, etorque failure, and now this engine knock. I am beyond frustrated. Don’t really want to trade but at this point I feel like I don’t have a choice.
Truck has been towed to dealer. They won’t be able to look at it until next week so will post updates once I know something.
Service advisor did ask about my recent oil change. Had it done at Firestone as I did not want to wait a month for an appointment at the dealer. Service advisor said if...
Found a dealer 45 minutes away that can look at it next week. Every other dealer around here will not look at it until the end of the month. The nightmare continues.
I’m leaning towards internal part failure as well. Truck is stock besides small lift, tires, and magnaflow muffler. Oil was just changed less than 1000 miles ago.
I see trading this in my future but I did get a good laugh from your post. First Ram. First new truck I’ve bought off the lot. Absolutely hate this happened.
I have a 2020 Laramie 1500 4x4 with the 5.7. Truck started a bad engine knock on the way home from work. It’s a 17 mile trip one way and did not start until I was almost home.
Crawled under the truck and had my wife rev a few times so I know it’s not an exhaust manifold. It seems to be louder...
The rear window with slider panel is the same part with both crew and quad. I have a 2020 Laramie quad cab. I had the rear window crack and also third brake light leak. This happened within 3 months of buying new off the lot. Took a while of back and forth and waiting but dealer eventually...
Installed mopar chrome tow hooks today. The install instructions are pretty easy. Biggest problem I ran into was getting my hands in tight spaces to remove the factory bezel. I definitely recommend removing the wheel well liner to give you more room to work. There are plenty of YouTube videos...
I’m in coastal South Carolina so no snow around here. Tires have been on for about 10k miles. So far I love them. They seem to be wearing evenly. Tread pattern provides plenty of traction in rain, dry pavement, dirt, and mud. The tread pattern is comparable to a BF Goodrich KO2. I always ran a...
I’m definitely not a fan of the squatted truck look. In hindsight I wish I went with a 2 inch spacer in the back. I’ll run it this way for a while and see if the front settles down.
Here is a side pic along with fender measurements from the ground to center of wheel well. The front springs should settle in a bit after a few hundred miles to make the truck perfectly level. It has a slight lean but hard to tell in person.
Before: 37.5 front, 40 rear
After: 41.5 front, 41 rear
I like the look of the stock 20s so I don’t plan on changing the wheels at the moment. Possibly in the future.
As for tires, I’m currently running 275/65/20 Firestone Destination XT. They are roughly 34x11. I put them on before the lift and want to wear these out before going bigger. When it’s...
Hey y’all,
Installed the Rough Country 3.5 lift today with the lifted struts and upper control arms. I went with the N3 shocks as opposed to the upgraded V2. RC N3 are supposed to be close to stock and so far I have no complaints. The ride is excellent. I had a RC 3.5 on an older Silverado and...
