My receiver seems to have quite a bit of play. My Ram sits higher than my last truck so I purchased an adjustable ball mount to get the correct ball height. It seems to me the adjustable ball mounts have quite a bit of play, so I think some of the play may be in the ball mount.

From the look of the pictures, the areas will need to be sanded smooth, reshot with base coat then clear coat. The paint doesn’t appear to be metallic, which makes the repair easier. Overall, should be a pretty easy fix.

you might try using some 3M 5200 adhesive. I used 5200 to glue a gun magnet under a marble top table. it’s a very strong adhesive, once it cures it’s pretty permanent.
