Previous version of the blue ox that I’m running from 2013 had 1200lb bars. The newer version doesn’t, and the also eliminated the hitch head micro tilt adjustment. I’d go 1500lb with the new setup for sure.
Blue ox sway pro with 1200lb bars. Ridiculously good. My sister with a similar setup, +\-7000lb trailer, tried an Andersen and we couldn’t get it dialed no matter what we did, she switch to a Curt and it’s almost as good as my blue ox, but provides much less sway control according to my sister.
Sounds like either your starter is catching or the ac clutch might be grabbing. Hard to say, but definitely not right. Do you have e-torq? Might also be that?
Get tapatalk and look at it on your phone, no option to see the signatures at all. greatly de-clutters the page. Kind of a PITA if the member says "details in my signature", but I got over it.
Yes, superstrut rails on the bed sides, 1.5"x1.5" galvanized cross bars and swagman upright bike racks on top. Works great and added less than 100lbs to my unit, excluding weight of bikes.
You're good to go with that setup *IF* your wdh is set up properly and transferring the correct amount of weight to all axles. For comparison my rebel with ecodiesel has a 1444lb CCC and my trailer has a 9,680lb GVWR, 6,873lb dry weight and has been scaled fully loaded with water and gear for 2...
ASG and MFT, no ram boxes for me. Unless you have a specific use for ram boxes, they limit my bed space too much on a 5'7" bed. Advanced safety group gets you adaptive cruise, and if you do a lot of highway cruising in congested areas it is a must have. Multi-function tailgate is awesome, wish...
My trailer is at just under 1000lb TW and I’ve got the 1200lb bars on my blue ox. Had the 1000lb before and they couldn’t handle the job to my liking. The step up was perfect.
States so far: California, New Mexico, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maine, Hawaii, Connecticut, New York, Oregon, North Carolina, Rhode Island, and Washington
With the EU, Canada and a number of other policy driving G7 countries already on the band wagon Biden probably isn’t far behind.
So with most countries/states banning sale of gasoline engines by 2035, this begs the question of is it worth it to put additional engineering into a new power plant for just over ten years of sales? Lots of speculation, but no announcements yet. I think you’ll see smaller and smaller turbo...
First tow today with 2021 Rebel Eco. 7600lb 33’ trailer. 18.5L/100km or 12.7 USMPG at 115kmph or just under 75mph. Was a fantastic tow! Got better mileage towing with my ED towing than my Hemi empty around town.
Finished my over tonneau bike rack. 4 Swagman upright bike racks on custom unistrut bed rails (need to paint the uppers still), and free 1.75x1.75" recycled square galvanized sign post. No wiggle, very solid.
So about 90/10 city/highway and my truck average right now is 11.4L/100km or 20.63 USMPG. It’s only getting better. Looking forward to a towing trip in 3 days to see how much better this beast is with my trailer.
Very difficult to add factory upfitter switches in this truck as you also need a module, believe it’s a vsim or something, and a bunch of harness splicing. Better, cheaper and easier to go aftermarket.
Rebel will come with the classIV receiver and 4/7 pin trailer connection. You’d need to add the trailer brake controller for anything over 5,000lbs, but should be good to go without.
