Either trailer will work for your specific truck. Based on my experience towing a 33’ 9000lb GVWR trailer, 7600lbs loaded, with the 4th gen and now 5th gen air bags in the coils out back are a necessity when you have anything approaching 1’000lbs on the hitch. I tow with a blue ox with 1200lb...
Why the hell are they charging for mount and balance tires multiple times and alignment after a tire rotation? Seems suspect to me, I’d find a different ram dealer or go independent with a bogus quote like that.
That’s doable in a big horn with off-road or back country package if you are in the US only. Can’t get the ED below a rebel trim in Canada.
My rebel ED crew (window sticker linked) with the following options has a 1444lb payload. Adding leather, sunroof, mft, ram boxes or BUG will lower payload...
Yes, you need to get a bit more weight back to the front axle for a more confident tow. That can be very difficult with an Andersen, but is possible. See if you can move the brackets back a few inches on the trailer or crank down on the chain bolts about a dozen turns and it may get you there...
Definitely the best truck I’ve owned. This is my Rebel with 3.92s on a highway trip last weekend at 8.5L/100km or 27.67mpg (verified at the pump too) with 4 people, luggage and a bike on my above bed rack gave this while driving through the Alberta/BC Rockies. I have seen as high as 7.5L/100km...
I test drove three trucks back to back on the same route. Big horn with 20’s, Laramie with 22’s and rebel with 18’s. Laramie with steel springs and 22’s was the harshest and I felt every bump and joint in the road, but it looked purty. The big horn felt most truck like and the rebel was the most...
If it’s porpoising you don’t have enough tension on the WD bars. Jack the tongue up, or jack it up further to get the bars higher for more tension.
As for the air lift, they do help. On my rebel I had to remove shock bolts, calipers, sway bar end links and still didn’t get enough to put the...
The additives likely have the water reabsorbed in to the diesel, that is how most work, check Howes diesel treatment videos on YouTube, or any other video for your selected treatment. You will usually get less water while using a treatment than without.

Worth every penny spent. I tow more than most and on the heavier side at about 7600lbs. This thing is a beast, has more HP and torque than the legendary 2nd gen 12valve Cummins and is more efficient than my wife’s Toyota Highlander and 200x better than my 4th gen Hemi 1500. If you want it, get it.
Dainty diesel, that’s a good one considering this ED has more HP and torque than the legendary 2nd gen 12 valve Cummins. Add in more gears in the tansMission and this thing pulls harder than the old 2500 and 3500, and has about the same payload and GCWR as the 2500 that had the legendary diesel.
Looks like you are close to perfect. Do you hitch the ball and then crank up the tongue jack before putting the chains on? If not that is the next step and would probably allow you to pick up a few more links. To really tell if it is setup properly you’d have to have a truck scale weight with no...
3rd brake light looks sweet. What did it set you back, and any issues with the install, or just straight swap?
2012 4th gen SXT crew Hemi retired.
Factory ordered 2021 Rebel Billet Silver Metallic EcoDiesel March 10, built May 18, build sheet May 19, window sticker May 22, delivered June 9...
Near the end of summer with ice sports just starting. Thought I’d share a pic of the trailering vs driving kms since new. Almost half towing. Still averaging 14.3L/100km since new with that amount of towing, about 18L/100 towing and 9-12L/100 just booting around. Can’t complain with only 7 fills...
