I think Ram is missing a better CAFE rating by not offering 3.55 or 3.73s for both engine variants. The ED runs at 2000rpm at 75, and drops from 27mpg in my rebel at 70 to 25-26 at 75. A few hundred less revs would be great. Too bad regearing the front axle is a major PITA, as in you need to buy...
Those look fine. Only thing to watch /listen for is if the UCA starts contacting the spring. If it does then you would need to replace to eliminate potential damage.
Got the recall notice today in Canada. It says there are too many emissions, which says to me that they are going to increase the amount of def injection to deal with that. Totally sucks…
I’ve got the same thing. Pulled up to my dad when we were driving the fields at my nieces ranch and he asked why the he’ll the truck squeaks so much. Never noticed before then, but started driving with the windows open on the ranch roads and boy does it ever squeak and squawk. Narrowed it down...
Hoping someone figures out how to add the own switch. I’ve got a rebel with comfort and convenience that listed remote tailgate release as an option. Apparently this just means you get a key fob with the tailgate button. Was hoping for a switch in the console like the Laramie and Limiteds.
Stock height, just the 900 lb tongue weight and pointing up a small hill, no level.
Got that rig right before pricing went wild in 2021, and had to wait 3 months less a day from order to arrival. Dealer offered me $5,000 more than I paid to not take it home and 4 months later they were offered...
Do yourself a favour and skip the Andersen WDH. They aren’t actually WDHs and you can’t put enough weight back in the front axle of this truck to eliminate dangerous wandering. There was a thread in towing about this recently that’s worth a read. The eights of the trailers you’ve shortlisted...
All black.
2012 4th gen SXT crew Hemi retired.
Factory ordered 2021 Rebel Billet Silver Metallic EcoDiesel March 10, built May 18, build sheet May 19, window sticker May 22, delivered June 9. Dutchmen 268bhs 33’ trailer, 7600lbs +/- 100lbs loaded and scaled.
I tow with my Rebel ED I’m the Canadian Rockies at 7600lbs on an 11’6” tall 33’ travel trailer. No issues what so ever, where my previous Hemi struggled and almost overheated before backing off and crawling up the mountains. This 5th gen with the 3rd gen diesel loves towing, but depending how...
If you’re upsizing tires, definitely get the 3.92’s. I’ve got a rebel with 33’s and it is perfectly suited for 3.92’s. At 120kph/70mph it doesn’t down shift much from 8th. It even tows my 33’ 7600lb trailer in eighth at that speed and only downshifts to 6th for big hills and occasional shifts to...
Every truck I’ve ever owned has been out of level one way or another. Worst was an S10 i had for a short while at 1.5” difference. Usually lower on the side that will see twist upwards with power applied. This applies to all Chevy/GM, Ferd, Dodge/Ram across 25 years of trucks I’ve owned.
You’ve got the same problem my sister had with the Anderson. She swapped it out after 2 trips as the white knuckling and not enough in the front axle was unsolvable with this hitch. You can try cranking down the threads a little more, but she went 20 more cranks and only added 35 lbs back to the...
Sounds like too light a front end to me and you have scale numbers to prove it. Start by adding more to the front axle with hitch adjustment and that will solve your problem.
Had the same issue intermittently on my alpine system. There is a harness under the driver seat that wasn’t fully seated and locked in. Plugged it in and engaged the lock and haven’t had an issue since.
