No offense BowDown, but you're not correct. The 3.9 'performs' better then the 3.2, but I guess it depends on your and my definition of 'performance'. I own both and drive each of them back to back.
Agree, the difference is slight, but the 3.9 wins (for me and how I use and drive my trucks).
That's my experience with 3.2s as well, and way worse even lightly loaded with 1-2 dirtbikes in the back. Does it really matter if it's shifting it's *** off all day? Don't know, don't care, but I don't like it. Forgetabout it with a 5K trailer on the back, I have to limit to 6-7th. Not so...
I own both. Both 5th gen hemi, no e-thing. I prefer the 3.92 and for some reason get 1-2 better mpg with it. And 1-2mpg doesn't mean a lot either way. I also prefer how the 3.92's drive and don't shift as much. I could care less about the slight increase in rpm, and actually prefer how she...
my 20 and 21 air ride units have mostly seen highway and in aero-mod a lot. 15-20K miles on each and I have not seen any abnormal tire wear and the tires appear to be in normal position in the lowered mode. I certainly can't comment on your lifted truck, but maybe just visually look at them in...
I agree with other posters that you should lemon it. My '20 and '21 have been surprisingly great with the small exception of the 'driveline bump' on my '20 that I haven't had time to bring in yet, but it is relatively minor annoyance. I am so enjoying these 2 Ram's compared to my countless...
Used to take my wife's Grand Cherokee (v8) on long trips, when I had GM's, etc.... now we take the Ram. Significantly better comfort, capability, etc...
just a factory assembly issue. If you've ever been to a plant, it's mayhem. Keep the line moving at almost all cost. So, yours was rolling down the line and the assembler put in the wrong one or they did it on purpose to keep the line moving. If it's an easy plug and play without removing a...
My guess is, it's just a slight oversight by the engineers. Maybe some insulation was/is needed. If your door closes correctly and has no obvious gap, my opinion is to move on.
Re: Engineers. They did such a great job on this truck in so many ways, a little hiccup is OK with me.
I have two 5th gens 20 laramaie & 21 limited and the rear doors on both sound hollowish, or not solid like the fronts, or coming from my many GM's of the past. Assumed it was normal since I have two alike and I've moved on.
I own both. '21 3.2 and '20 3.9. I tow 6500 TT w/3.2 and it did great, only little compliant is it shifts 3 through 7 all day up and down in the mid-Atlantic hills. Not the end of the world. My 3.9 does this much less, that's all.
The way I drive, with a heavy foot, my 3.9 actually gets 1-2...
I've had my e-steps for a year now on my limited and have gotten used to them. On another truck that didn't come with them I dislike steps that stick out a lot and searched high and wide for something that doesn't stick out too far and found the go-rhino dominator D6 to my liking.
All said and...
Not going to get even close to that for a long time, if ever. Current Ford lightning empty range is 230 to 300 depending on model. Truck weighs 6000lbs +/- (wow). Car and Driver is estimating the towing range at under 100 miles. I am estimating it more like 80 miles if you need to climb any...
I've got two long beds, use them and like them. One from a lot, one ordered that way. Just my preference for what I do with them. Glad we have the choice.
wow, you got a lemon. Sorry. Sure it wasn't flooded? No issues with my 20 Laramie or 21 Limited. take that back, one issue with my 20 that needs the driveshaft slip yok greased.
My wife's Jeep does it auto, but it's really too slow to be of use getting out, but then it lowers for when you get back in. Agree w Mike too, that with power steps it's not needed, and I'm short. My non power step truck I put off-road steps on that don't stick out to far, and it's fine to...
That's exactly my experience and I own both a 3.21 and 3.92. Next time I trade my 3.2 in I'm going 3.9 for that truck too. But to be fair, while towing 6K with the 3.2, it did just fine if you don't mind it shifting 3-4-5-6-7-8 and back all day (mountainous terrain). Even with just two...
