    UC4 12 Amp draw & Reboot

...how frequently do these things fail? Is this the kind of thing where I'm going to be replacing the radio every year or so? Because that is what it feels like.

    UC4 12 Amp draw & Reboot

Is there an alternative to this unit that I can get installed that is more reliable?

Intro + Perfectly Wrong in Every Possible Way

No, I have not. I've just decided not to use Android Auto, now that my radio is fixed. Have some USB data blockers coming today, so that when I plug my phone in to recharge, the radio won't grab hold of it. If I want to use navigation on the phone for some reason, it will be without Android...

    UC4 12 Amp draw & Reboot

What causes them to fail so easily? I saw earlier in this thread it was shorted capacitors. Is it the heat? Is it somehow related to the chip shortage in 2020? I've never experienced failure-prone electronics before. Ever. I should also correct. My ammeter read "zero", but then while the...

    UC4 12 Amp draw & Reboot

It's fixed now. They replaced the whole unit with an 68329882AR, which looks like the most recent iteration. GPS is back, and current draw is at zero.

Well, delighted to say that the local dealer replaced the behind-the-screen radio thing (68329882AR), and all is golden for the first time ever!! The GPS works. The power draw is zero (with intermittent jumps to ~1.4A, I'm guessing due to keyfob proximity or update cycles). ...I've never...

Intro + Perfectly Wrong in Every Possible Way

Thanks, yes, I found this thread last night. This has been quite an adventure. I drove 350 miles to get this truck because it was such a good deal, and it turns out I've got the 3-amp-battery-kill issue described in that thread. The dealer arranged for my local dealer to replace the bits and...

    UC4 12 Amp draw & Reboot

Is the "air card" synonymous with part # M3J4102474? I ask, because the 2020 I just acquired has an amp draw issue, which the dealer narrowed down to a card that needs to be replaced, and my GPS is also 150 miles off. So I'm hoping that the repair to fix the amp draw will also fix the GPS...

Intro + Perfectly Wrong in Every Possible Way

For the onboard GPS (scenario #3), does the fact that the GPS system can't calibrate mean that I simply don't have GPS installed on the vehicle, or does it point to something broken?

Intro + Perfectly Wrong in Every Possible Way

I think I found the problem, will try tomorrow. This might be the solution for scenario 1: "...go into google maps settings then Navigation settings then turn off play voice over bluetooth."

Intro + Perfectly Wrong in Every Possible Way

Hello, I don't know the best place for this thread, so putting it in General. I'm new to the 5th Gen RAM. I just traded up from a 2017 Sport to a 2020 Longhorn, and love it so far, except for this following conundrum for which there is no setup that works. And that is proper GPS... Scenario...
