If you are going to amplify the speakers then is doesn't matter what people recommend. But you should research which 5 ch amp you want then see what the power specs are and go based off that. Because if you get 8 ohm speakers just to match the ohms of the stocks then the power output on your...
This is what I just finished doing to my truck with the alpine system.

It wasn't today, but I finally completed the audio system upgrade. I installed the dsr1 for stock integration with 2 amps. 1st amp is Pioneer gm-d9705 (5 channel amp) and 2nd is a Crunch px1000.4 (4 channel amp). The 1st amp is powering the dash speakers (corners Infinity ref 3032cfx and center...

Installed;
Doors - infinity ref 9623ix
Dash corners - infinity ref 3032cfx
Dash center - power acoustik nb-2 w/ PAC bb-6pr
Rear headliner- prv...

Yeah I don't want to splice into any of the factory wires either but I want to save some time and labor of running all new wiring to each speaker. So the ch4 harness is effective enough to connect the speakers to the aftermarket amps?
A few more questions, did you use the speaker wire leads from the ch4 t harness to connect to the amps? And if so are they all independent from each other? Or are some combined?
I am going to install an lc7i and run a 5 channel amp for the door speakers and a single 12. I'm planning on leaving the dash and rear headliners connected to the factory amp, for now. That's why I will be disabling the acn. If everything works smoothly then I might put the rest of the speakers...
People on here have said that when adding an amp or even sometimes changing the door speakers, the acn picks up some droning sounds, similar to mic feed back. And to remedy that, they disable the acn mics. I put an acn bypass harness on mine for future install and it has not affected any...
