I found the truck...now I need some advice...

If you have ever replaced your spark plugs, shocks or brakes, then you have demonstrated more than enough mechanical ability to replace a cracked manifold. Broken studs is going to be more complicated and may require more than your basic tools.

Sad times, 2450 layoffs coming to the Warren plant.

IIRC, the Warren plant was to run until one of the new plants was up and running and then shutdown and retooled for new models like the reg cab shortbed in the new body style. But, what was planned and what actually happens are two different things...

Rebel has Delrin ower rear shock bushing !?!

Ha, yeah, you kinda mentioned them in your first post... Can you link a pic to the ones you selected and maybe elaborate on what kind of issues you are having? Edit: I made the assumption you are talking about Firestone helper bags but realize now that you may doing an actual air suspension...

    Exhaust manifold recall

The post you quoted was from Aug of 2022...there's a slightly different manifold available now but I don't believe there ever was an actual recall issued.

Rebel has Delrin ower rear shock bushing !?!

Bilstein is a lower end shock? Those are built by Bilstein specifically for Mopar and unfortunately not available anywhere else. Mopar must have spec'ed a different material than standard for the bushings. I just purchased a set for the front and they did not come with any hardware or dampeners...

    Boogielander Build

We spent 3 days in Dawson before riding back to Tok so I can't remember if they were on the way or if we saw them on one of our day excursions out of Dawson. IIRC, one was on the hwy between Chicken and Dawson and the other was just outside Dawson. I'll see if I can't get you some location...

I'd love to see pics of Kennecott mine. It's history is detailed on the TV Series "Edge of Alaska". That is some beautiful country up there. Are you going to brave the "Top of the World" highway from Tok to Dawson City? We did the "Trek over the top" on snowmobiles back in 2005. That's over 200...

Replacement shock absorbers on a 4-corner air-suspension Ram.

I found this illustration detailing the Land Rover Air Suspension. It's not exactly the same as our RAMs but it's close enough to give you an idea of what the internals look like.

Replacement shock absorbers on a 4-corner air-suspension Ram.

The issue is that the shock body slides up into the assembly and forms the seal to keep the air inside. It's not just a hollow cavity with ample clearance that the shock just feeds through. So if the shock body is even fractionally larger, it simply won't fit. Too narrow and it wouldn't ever...

Replacement shock absorbers on a 4-corner air-suspension Ram.

Put 400 miles on the truck this morning and it is back to riding like a luxury vehicle again. It's like you don't know how worn out your running shoes are until you slip into a new pair. :) It didn't solve all my vibration issues but it's worlds better so I think part of it is the road itself...

Replacement shock absorbers on a 4-corner air-suspension Ram.

That clip certainly sees some load but I think it may be distributed using the central aluminum shell pictured below. The lower tapered section sits and seals against the circlip but the top of the shock body also inserts into a formed section in the upper part of that same aluminum shell to...

Replacement shock absorbers on a 4-corner air-suspension Ram.

Install went pretty smooth this morning. I started a little before 6am and was wrapped up around 11am, and that included me breaking for about an hour to make some breakfast and tend to the wife. I noticed a bit more road noise than usual during the test drive but otherwise it was smooth and...

Replacement shock absorbers on a 4-corner air-suspension Ram.

The Polished rod is larger on the OEM Bilstein but it is the same diameter as the little bushing on the factory shock so the end result is the same. The threads are identical too but the picture makes the factory unit look much smaller than it actually is. I had already boxed up the Bilstein...

What a great trip and some amazing pics and memories. FYI, You drove through my home town of Williams Lake, BC. I moved away in 2001 but I recognize many of the spots where you stopped for pics.

Replacement shock absorbers on a 4-corner air-suspension Ram.

Well, my OEM front shocks arrived today so I can confirm, the cheaper $110 Bilsteins will not work, even if I move the circlip. I think we could have determined this had we looked at the dimensions but seeing them side by side, it is glaringly obvious in seconds that they aren't compatible. So...

What to expect in the 2nd. 100,000 miles

I do alot of my own work so the cost was mostly just parts. So things like replacing the passenger side manifold cost me under $100 vs the $1200 - $1500 I hear people being quoted for what is essentially a 3hr job. The fluids I had the dealer do during one of my regular service visits. Spark...

What to expect in the 2nd. 100,000 miles

Mines still going strong at 124k miles. It has yet to leave me stranded but I have replaced a couple items on it. - Battery. - Passenger side exhaust manifold. - Passenger side front wheel bearing. - Currently on my fourth set of tires. I went through the truck at 100K miles and replaced all...
