Understood. I know that there are "Load Isolaters" available for adding lights to motorcycles - Custom Dynamics comes to mind - to isolate add-on lights from the BCM. I haven't seen anything similar specifically for auto/truck applications. While there are both manufacturer & model specific...
Considering the install of running board lights on my MY2020 1500 Laramie. The OPT7 "Sidekick Sequential Running Board Switchback LED Strip Kit" has caught my eye. When reviewing the info on the "ask a question" portion of the web site, I saw a post from someone who was having an installer...
If you are convinced it's the head unit, (assuming you are out-of-warranty) you either find someone to troubleshoot & repair, replace, or live with it. As for replacing, you could try to find a used unit. If not, Infotainment.com sells them new but at $1700 they aren't cheap. It sucks - good...
Do you have a significant other, or a friend, who you can get together with for a day & see if their phone connects reliably with your unit? If that phone maintains a reliable connection - or it doesn't - you'll know which direction to go.
I'm not an Apple fan - or an Apple user - but it sounds like the data cable might be faulty. If you haven't done so, I'd first try using a new Apple or high quality cable & see how that works.
Best Buy MA1
Best Buy has the Motorola MA1 Android Auto Wireless dongle on sale for $69.99. I picked one up last night. That's the lowest price I've seen on these. I set it up today - effortless to do -& it worked well for me going to dinner & back home which was a 50 mile round trip. There...
As mentioned, I have a 2020 1500 Laramie with the 8.4, non-nav system. I first noticed that the field in the EVIC I had set to be the compass setting did not show a direction, it was an empty circle. I went to the "U Apps" screen & selected "Compass"; that screen just displayed "Acquiring...
I'm not trying to revive a dead thread - but I have the same problem with my 2020 Laramie with the 8.4 non-nav system. In fact, my radio was recently replaced under warranty & the replacement has the same issue. FWIW, you do not have to call the number to store it in the presets. There is...
I know this is late - you posted in October - but I have a Samsung S22 Ultra & it paired & connects seamlessly with my 8.4 non-nav 4 System. In fact, my radio was replaced twice under warranty (the first time the replacement was defective) & each time I had zero issues connecting my phone to...
My truck is a 2020 1500 Laramie, 8.4 system without nav. Are the dash USB ports always hot? I want to invest in an Android Auto wireless adapter, but having to unplug it every time I shut down the truck would be a pain. Are the dash USB ports timed? Is there anyone using a wireless adapter...
Had the compass stop working recently on my 2020 1500 Laramie. I noticed at the time my clock wouldn't automatically update either (8.4 without navigation). It was still covered under warranty. After looking at it, my dealer replaced the radio & all is well now.
2020 RAM 1500 Laramie, 8.4 UConnect 4 System (no navigation or connect). It seems my GPS has stopped working. If I go into the Apps screen, & select "Compass", the screen that comes up says "Acquiring Signal" - but it never does. The small compass in the EVIC cluster is just an empty circle...
Why not just use what the manufacturer recommends? I mean, they engineered & built the engine & it's been around a while so I would think they know what the lubrication requirements are & what viscosity oil will keep the engines from returning for warranty work due to lubrication issues...
I drive fairly gently off the highway - slowly accelerate, back off the gas as soon as I see something happening up ahead that will require me to slow down, don't tailgate, etc. On the highway, I roll fast but try to not have to hit my brakes unless I am exiting. (That can be tough to do in...
2020, 5.7L non-E Torque, Laramie CrewCab, 5'7" bed, 3.23 gears, 4X4, folding tonneau cover on bed, 7500 miles. About 16MPG city. Two trips from NE Ohio to central Tennessee & back saw over 23MPG on the highways, average speed on the interstates was 80MPH. Have not towed yet.
