I think it comes down to looks. They look...ungainly...with the longer bed. AND, most people only need a 5.7 bed. I had the 6'4" bed in a quad cab in 2013 and liked that length of bed but not the longer truck.
AND, having had a 2013 Quad and a 2015 Crew with the 5.7, they were very large...
Having been researching trailers for years, I like shorter better while still checking my boxes. Length does make a difference imho. It seems that having "lounge chairs" in a slide is what makes the difference. If you can live without that, and go only with a dinette, you can do it under 28...
That's a 27 foot 4 inch Aspen Trail 2340Bhswe. It runs 5500 dry. I'm right at 6700 lbs loaded and 800 loaded tongue weight. I have a 3.21 rear end 1300 payload and 8K total. It does great. I would prefer a 3.92 rear end having had one, but this does just fine as the tranny compensates fine for...
I live in MT and tow a 6700 travel trailer in the summer. Tow Haul is a must both with the trailer and without on mountains. As others have noted, it's going to stay in lower gears longer going up and will shift at different points to use engine breaking going down irrespective of whether you...
At least three... I did the same 95 mile trip same road (interstate/90 miles), roughly same conditions same speeds except temp no wind to speak of and with my 3.21 5.7, I almost hit 23 (22.8) in the summer and just got almost 19 yesterday (18.7). This was on the lyometer. I did have the wife in...
My 2013 5.7 quad cab did NOT have LSD but did have 4WD AND traction control. At the mailboxes where everyone stops and polishes the ice, it would just spin. I'd have to put it in 4WD to get moving. The 2015 crew cab with 4WD and LSD would just shift the power to what ever wheel had traction on...
First, why do they call it a "center" bed step when it is off to one side? Second, I'm not sure what purpose it serves. The lower area where the license plate 7 pin is works fine. I see it from my own experience as of limited value. When I want in, I don't want to take the time to lower it, and...
Coming from a a 2015 with Halogens, going to projectors and never being happy with them having to supplement with LED aftermarket spots on my aftermarket bumper that were fantastic, I said next one will HAVE to have OEM the light package. My new one does and I couldn't be happier.
On my 2015 with a 5.7 and 3.92 the green eco light was on and off all the time. I never even noticed any difference. Now with the 3.21, you very seldom see the green eco light.
After renting various ones when visiting home then driving for a week. IF, all you do is drive like the guy says, the Pentastar is really nice and not a dog at all... And, if you want, it will even do a small trailer.
(neat trick - order cheapest rental car online and when you get to airport...
After my 2013 and 2015 with the halogen's, when I got a new one, I was determined to get the OEM light package. I've seen the difference and it is so much better and they look good over the "bulbous" eye look on the halogens. AND, living in MT it is truly imperative to have good headlights so...
How many of you calculate your fuel load in reducing payload? Anyone? Well, you do NOT have to if you do. The payload is figured "including all fluids." So, for some, particularly those with lower payloads, this is important. AND, don't forget a dry hitch weight does NOT include your propane...
Your biggest problem will be forgetting it is back there as your truck is designed for a lot more. Oh, remember to TAKE TURNS WIDE or enjoy driving over curbs and possibly hitting someone in their turn lane. That trailer is going to be a good trial run for a first time tow. It will familiarize...
I'm not paying 150 bucks for a map update. I still have to type into mine and we don't use it. Google Maps Android Auto all day long. Ask Google what a donkey sounds like some time if you have dogs in the truck.
Tuxedo Truxport for 299 bucks. Do you have the Ramboxes? It's designed so it slides right into the existing brackets utility management system brackets. I am perfectly happy with mine and from 15-20 feet you can't tell it from the 1K ones. You might need to get a roll of the 1 inch (expanding)...
They said lighters can't blow up on their own too. I had a cheapo clear one in the sun and it blew up, scared the poo out of me, sharp little pieces of plastic everywhere. I think the little structural pieces inside acted like a lense...
