Dealerships do a full PDI (pre delivery inspection) upon receiving the vehicle and before it gets sold. I've just happened to see two of my ordered trucks before they were checked in (one was a night drop, the other I was driving by and saw the carrier turn in).

Allocation is a thing, it's more commonly discussed with corvettes, etc, but I'd imagine it's at play here.

Setup a search on Cargurus, the right truck is out there. Once you find it, Google the vin to find it on the dealers website and download the free carfax.

IMO, if you can afford one of these trucks grab a GM or Ford now, then switch it out for a Ram in two years. I took a chance on Ram in '19 with the new truck but was ready to swap it out if it had issues (it didn't). When I bought again in late 22, I went with a used Ram vs new to avoid...
