    2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

Contaminated fuel? With as busy and consistent as this thread is?? Not bloody likely!

What did you do to your Ram today???

It might. Haven’t tried it. But I’m not much of a gambler.

What did you do to your Ram today???

If you want to go Bluetooth then it has to work. No dropped connections, plenty of bandwidth, no latency. A problem with either in the middle of a flash can be bad. MX+ has been exceptionally reliable for me in this regard for a few years. Going Bluetooth is just a preference. I don’t like...

    2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

Hmm fuel pump eh? High or low pressure I wonder. A log of actual vs desired fuel rail pressure would be revealing. So these misfires/check engine lights- are they only happening to you guys at or near WOT? Or does it happen say just tooling down the highway/part throttle?

Yay now we’re cooking. If it were me I’d clear the codes, then swap the ignition coil from cylinder 5 to any other cylinder and see if the misfire codes return. If they do, see if the code follows the coil to the new cylinder. If so, probably a bad coil - perhaps they got a bad batch. If...

Codes people! We need the dang codes if you want any hope of identifying any kind of correlation.

1st RAM and 1st time 1/2 ton owner

Ram Limited payload ratings may indeed be notoriously low… but so to have Tacomas ratings always been laughably low. If you didn’t have any weight carrying issues with the Tacoma you sure as heck won’t with the Ram.

    2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

A little devils advocate: I work in software as I suspect many do. These things are now rolling Software applications, with the new Ram having probably close to 2 dozen individual networks (idk but the new F150 has about 4 dozen). In the software world this would be a big release and...

2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

I had the tow mirrors on my F150 and do not want tow mirrors on a half ton ever again. As great as they make looking behind you, it’s equally as awful as they making looking ahead, giving a huge blind spot as you said. Only if I pulled an 8.5’ wide travel trailer frequently would I go back...

So you want to tow a camper! Discussion thread.

Very true, I usually use 12% or 13% calculations myself in most cases. Good point about Travel trailers and all the crap that gets added to the tongue.

So you want to tow a camper! Discussion thread.

Keep it simple. Only number you need to be concerned with in a high trim half ton is payload. You’ll exceed that before any other rating. Coachmen’s website says GVWR of your trailer is 7,600 lbs. At minimum you will plan for 10% of GVWR to be tongue weight (TW), and TW comes right off...

OBDLink.com (No affiliation) I like their app quite a bit thanks to its logging and diagnostic capabilities, and I prefer their PID dashboards. I use their Bluetooth MX+ adapter, not only with my phone running the OBDLink app itself, but also connect it to my laptop to run other vehicle...

OBDLink app plus one of their OBD2 dongles is a no brainer. Purchase their manufacture extended interface and you’ll have pretty much same access as the dealers as far as pulling and clearing codes. We all spend plenty of money on tools and mods, but everyone should own a good scanner if they...

New 2024 Ford F-150 First Look: If It Ain't Broke, Add Stuff

They are literally on the 3rd generation of the 3.5 EcoBoost. This engine is almost 14 years old. All the chatter I’ve heard has been very positive. They might actually have the cam phaser thing figured out finally. Wonder whether the hurricane will see a similar lifespan and revisions? Hard...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

I think that’s a good rule of thumb for half tons. HDs are good for the “just set it on the hitch ball and let’s go” jobs. But the fine print goes on forever… Those specs over 11k lbs also require things like base trim, 2wd and non-crew cab. Those mighty payload figures are only available on...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

It should be illegal to sell any vehicle with a hitch but not a brake controller. Ok…. The libertarian in me says not illegal. But common sense would be a nice start. Even the capitalist in me knows a money grab when I see one.

DT Acceleration Slow Compared to DS

For giggles, try disabling the auto stop start and run through these scenarios again to see if it’s any better. Some have reported eTorque being over eager to shut things off when slowing, like to a stop.

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

This is true, Audi and VW still have a bad rap for coking valves. Funny thing is my naturally aspirated VW 2.5 also had to be cleaned, and it gets the same OCD-level oil changes as all my vehicles. It’s all in the valve cover and PCV system design. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase a car if it...
