    I6 sound in the cab

Its going to be just like the EcoBoost.... tuned to be nearly silent on the mainstream models, and tuned to at least sound like something on the specialty models (Raptor/RHO). They know it is never going to sound like a V8, so no need to bother. The in-cabin is the question. I turned off the...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

I suspect phobia like this gives them fear of tanking sales. Plus fleet managers eye repair costs - which is inevitably higher with turbos. Though again I must make the distinction between reliability and repairability. However a Powerbost Super Duty (with HD cooling stack) would be a job...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

Car and Driver has provided THE most reliable acceleration and technical data for decades. However like dyno results, the data is not relevant or comparable to your results with a stopwatch or tuner - not to any other results than their own. It’s an index. A break torque launch from still...

Travel trailer towing with a half ton

Payload and towing numbers are good to understand. But more important factors in my mind are: The terrain & elevation you are towing (Florida vs. Colorado?) Distance (down to the lake or cross country) The size and shape of the trailer (an RV is basically a parachute, and the longer it is, the...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

Short tripping is the biggest factor on engine longevity, just after timely oil changes. Assuming you don't start out with a dud, of course. Anything beyond concern for that is just a feel-good measure. We've chatted about c-cans in other threads, so all I'll say here is the notion that...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

Wonder if either Hurricane can support e85, or how long until someone makes high pressure fuel pumps and injectors for them? Because at that point, the Dino’s will need to follow suit to retain their spot in the pecking order.

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

Sort of funny that in a thread about which axle makes a better truck, it turns out regardless of which axle you choose, you're still in the slowest, least efficient half ton on the market (now that Titan is dead), and which is battling Tundra for lowest payload & towing ratings. The above is...

    Tire Upgrade

Not sure the jump in size is enough for a major impact to your mpg or performance. Now if you added a 6" lift at the same time, sure mpg will tank. That said, if your primary concern is weight, look at the Bridgestone Dueler Revo3 or Firestone Destination A/T in any given size to find the...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

Literally any ford dealership will do this, don’t worry about their FUD. The warranty is through Roush. Then there is theFord Performance supercharger package which is based around a Whipple supercharger and has an actual Ford manufacturer’s warranty so long as it’s installed by a ford dealer.

What did you do to your Ram today???

Good bye Hemi Tick. Hello Cam Phaser rattle. Either way, same oil debates online. Looking forward to hearing more.

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

Jeep is trying to spin up a new dedicated luxury brand. You’ll notice it doesn’t say Jeep anywhere on a Wagoneer itself nor its marketing materials. Anyway, like most luxury brands the dealer experience is a huge consideration. Especially at dealers that must run “mixed”, like a...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

This is true. I was thinking mainly of the bumpers. I cringe every time I see an older ford with Crinkled up chrome plastic on their grille.

    Who Loves Patriot Blue ?

Dodge has an awesome color for the Durango an Challenger I believe called Frostbite Pearl. Like Patriot, it looks so much better in person. Wife wants one.

2025 Ram 1500 First Drive: No More Hemi

The 3.5 Eco in my 2015 has been one of the most reliable engines I've had. And it's heavily modified. Its the rest of the truck falling apart around the engine that makes me grumpy, coupled with the experience of the TTV6 being less fun than a V8, even if objectively a better performer...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

Chrome is a good option if you plan to keep it forever. It ages better aesthetically, and is more durable against rock chips, etc. Look at some of the older trucks with body color trucks - they usually look like they've been to hell and back. Chrome looks old when its new, then stays that way...

Replacement shock absorbers on a 4-corner air-suspension Ram.

I know you could do this with the 4th gen (with some ingenuity) but hadnt hard of this being possible, not to mention SOP, for the 5th gen. I also thought the Air Strut was a single piece item. If not... that is AWESOME!

Did you accidentally put your truck in the dryer? Sounds like it shrunk.

    etorque removal - what’s involved?

This is all of my reasoning as well. Why would we choose to increase the amount of startups an engine experiences, if we care about longevity? Answer is manufactures feel more pressure to save a drop of gasoline than they do to give consumers products with long lives.

    etorque removal - what’s involved?

You should probably just sell your truck to me, just to be safe. I'm not just saying that because long bed flame red Hemis are hard to find anymore, or anything.
