Being able to put the tow mirrors on my 20 would keep me in this truck until the Ramcharger is affordable. With the wiring news that may not be possible since I have BSM, heated, power fold, etc.
Darksteel and I answered at the same time, but you've got 2 examples now. Heavier trucks (more options) are going to be able to legally tow less. Have certain trucks with certain payloads towed extremely heavy trailers when they aren't supposed to? Of course. You're liable for not only yourself...
GVWR is the max weight your truck can be. So if your truck's curb weight is 5500 pounds you have 1600 pounds of payload. The yellow door sticker in the driver's door jamb will tell you how many pounds of payload you have.
Basically you take the number on that sticker, subtract everything you...
With the 3.92 gears I haven't noticed a difference in power. Been hauling a 4000 pound trailer back and forth for dirt and mulch the last few months, and it's been the same before and after the tires. Tracking my normal trips it's less than 0.5mpg difference, and I consider that just fluctuation...
Since posting this I've had them in a bit of mud and some more slush and a lot of wet. Granted they're still fairly new at about 3.5k miles, but they're planted in the wet on pavement. They perform about as I expect an AT tire would do in the mud. I have some grip, but a lot of sliding once the...
Yeah I figured there were more, but it's the common one as it's the easy, fast, and quiet (unless you start my truck). We don't have a lot of thefts in my area, but we do have break ins that are more of a "The car is parked on a dark street, let's smash the windows and check what's inside."...
I love that you post a video that is very obviously marketing for a product that claims facts without much supporting evidence except claims they make and expect people not to disagree with you. And yes, I did watch the video. My multiple degrees in engineering and decade+ of working in...
But they're barely "facts". Why is it better engineered? Because it interacts directly with the entire brain of the truck rather than the throttle controller? How is it safer? Because they didn't show any failures in their video? You can only fail-safe something so much. If I chop my leg off...
Is the PC page bad? Yeah, it's typical marketing with bad grammar. Is this video good? It's not bad, but it's still marketing and does exactly what a competing product would do. You're not going to get a straight answer from either company about any competitors. When I talk to customers I don't...
Just answered this in another thread, but I recently changed mine with AMSOIL about 1500 miles ago. Looks like you basically have the same setup as my Rebel with the 5.7 non-Etorque, 3.92 rear, no 4Auto. This is what I paid (with the AMSOIL membership) for fluids, and if you've ever done these...
For you and to clear up the cost of the transfer case fluid, I used AMSOIL for all of it. Mobil 1 synthetic for oil and filter, but that's my normal brand. Transfer case could have been cheaper, but I bought the squeeze packs since it goes from a 30 minute job to a 5 minute job. More like $100...
I just did both diffs, transfer case, and oil myself at 50k miles. $200 or so. Only thing missing is transmission, but I agree that $1500 seems like it's about $800 too much with labor thrown in. When they have it up in the air the diffs and transfer case take about 10 minutes total.
