I as well. In addition, I've never known a first generation turbo-platform to not have issues. The Ford EcoBoosts, the GM 2.7L, etc.
Anyone buying the trucks with the new turbo motors is asking for a disaster, especially with Mopar discontinuing the lifetime warranty option. It just doesn't...
Supposedly, according to my dealer, the 3rd generation of the manifolds were another redesign to fix both issues.
1st generation design: Bolts/studs would crack.
2nd generation design: Manifold would crack.
3rd generation design: Supposedly fixed both issues.
Take this as a lesson from me and avoid making the same mistakes...
Just did Bilstein 5100's with a 2" level in the front and Rough Country UCA's on my 2019 Rebel. I took it to the local Mavis ("big box" store) around the corner from my office out of convenience for the recommended alignment. I...
Anything mechanical can fail but that's up there in miles. Granted, you should see these motors last, as a whole, for 200k or more. At least you have the unlimited warranty. They discontinued that right around the time I bought my extended. I would have gladly paid up for the unlimited. Look at...
Rough Country upgraded UCA's, Bilstein 5100 on 4 corners, 2" brought up in the front. Now the truck is level. Still 1/2"-3/4" rake which I assume will be more once the front settles.
My 2019 Rebel's went at about 30k in miles IIRC. My wife's 2021 JGC-L just went at 30k. Seems like FCA is either a) using crap batteries, b) have sub-par charging systems, c) have way too high of a draw on the battery or d) all of the above.
Both vehicles are daily drivers too. Driven 5-6 days...
My wife's 2021 JGC-L lease will be up in 2025. She wants the Wagoneer. I may end up with that motor. Being a lease, not too concerned. However, I would never consider actually owning a vehicle with that motor in it for a few years.
Comparatively speaking, similar. Although we have about 1000 cars in a mile worth of pavement at any given time here.
I rode for 12 years. Last bike was a ZX-10R. I gave it up in 2011. I made it out, mostly, unscathed.
To be fair, 75% of my experience is in the greater Miami and Ft. Lauderdale area which is probably the worst of the worst. I can see what you're saying. It's like the equivalent to driving in north NJ vs. south NJ. When we visit my wife's family down there, I joke how quickly it takes to spot...
People lose their mind everywhere but I'll tell you....the way people drive down there scares the daylights out of me. They suck pretty bad here in NJ too but man, Florida takes the cake.
50% of the cars you see on the road down there have more hits on them than Barry Bonds. It's literally...
Ironically, I never do either. Most of my vehicles I lease and they are given back around 35-40k usually. I ended up buying my Rebel. As soon as that decision was made, I did the trans.
Like I said, after seeing what the fluid looked like, what was stuck to the magnets, and even the sludge in...
T-case is for sure a "check" at 30k. However, that "check" is really a drain and fill. Driveline fluids like front and rear diff oil can go till 40-50k from what I understand unless it's extreme duty.
I'd personally wait on the gear oil.
Also, FWIW, the t-case, front, and rear diff are very...
Welcome. Take your time with the mods. They will come with time. Best to save some coin for mods that double as maintenance. For example, my stock Bilsteins are done at 65k and I am putting 5100's in shortly, with Rough Country UCA's.
I think the scary thing about these new vehicles is the misleading info from the factory. First off, the ZF trans they claim is "fill and run for life." Meanwhile, ZF and every manufacturer recommends a pan/filter/fluid change at 50-60k and then thereafter. Which I've done.
Now the oil weight...
