Just an update, while the truck was in the dealer for the exhaust manifold I had them align it. It was STILL out from the prior shop. I kind of saw it was.
Mavis - Did basically nothing.
Private Shop - Only fixed, essentially, general alignment.
Dealer - Got it all right. Toe-in was off.

Nothing I did, but finally got my passenger side exhaust manifold fixed by the dealer. It feels like I'm driving a new truck. Not from a performance standpoint but I'm now no longer embarrassed to fire it up in public with the godforsaken ticking noise. Now I have just some normal valve/lifter...
I've been looking at them and the Oracle light bar for my front grill. What boogielander posted looks killer. But for the prices, it's a lot. I know he does a lot of serious offroad and overlanding. For me, it's more trying to make sure I can see around me at 4am at a desolate boat ramp in the...
It will not. I was nervous because I thought the car seat straps for my son's car seat attached to the seat back. They actually attach to the firewall.
I typically only need to put a semi auto shotgun or bolt action rifle in the back seat. It seems like there would be enough room. Just trying to figure out how I would fabricate a bracket.
I appreciate the input. I am going to take some time and go through this. Definitely some sticker shock on those light prices. I definitely want to make sure I put something on that is quality for sure.
I have the Rebel with 3.92's. Just out of curiosity, what does everyone with 3.92 turn for RPM at about 75 mph?
Maybe it's just the fact I haven't been on the highway in a while, but, I was doing 75mph today and noticed I was turning 2000 rpm. Seemed a little bit high from what I remember.
100% normal. What was said about the e-locker on drive pavement is false. As long as you go in a straight line on dry/firm ground with the e-locker, it's not an issue. What you are experiencing is normal. The axle is locked and the inner or outer wheel, around turns, can't keep up/grip the same...
I agree. It's a negligible amount of compression. In terms of ride, the 5100's are harder than it was stock, new. However, they are way better than the worn out stock Bilsteins that were on there for the last 66k in miles.
The reality is that even the front Bilsteins are not the 100% ideal way to level/lift. It's much better than puck lifts for sure.
The problem is that it's pre loading the spring in the front when you raise the perch up. You get a little rougher ride and less spring travel. The ideal way to do...
If you under-add or don't add any of the slip additive in a truck with an limited-slip rear, you'll get chatter going around turns and wheel chirping.
Trucks w/o limited slip rears (Rebel with e-locker) = Limited slip additive or not, doesn't matter.
Trucks w/ limited slip rears (non e-locker)...
I wonder why people mess around with those trucks to begin with. The suspension from the factory is top notch. The guys who seem to do it the right way drop some serious coin to properly lift and upgrade.
That's a conservative bet. You won't look nose-high with that setting. As long as you have some rake, even 1/2 - 3/4" of an inch, it shouldn't look nose-high. At least I don't think so with mine. If it's dead level, which is pretty hard to achieve, then it looks nose-high with the sport hood...
I'm convinced it's purely for the assembly line process. I imagine the caliper bracket, calipers, and pads get installed down the line from the rotors. Yeah I can definitely see the guy down the line not wanting a rotor to fall off the hub onto his foot. Sure makes for a headache miles down the...
This. It defaults back to just measuring your current rake.
Anything above the stock rake level will leave it nose high and you will need spacers or taller springs in the rear like H2OMAN said.
