Yea sorry I can't be of more help. This sounds like one of those things that's impossible to diagnose without a code...that is unless you want to open the trans a take a look.
Maybe change the fluid and see if that helps (if it does, it might just be a temporary fix masking the issue). Use the...
You don't get as much in rebates (if such a thing exists in today's market). Usually, you are still paying less in the long run when you factor in finance charges with more rebates. Gotta run the numbers yourself.
Happens with Jeeps of all types too. That means it's a software problem as they aren't even the same transmission in a lot of cases (though still ZF gearboxes). ZF just sells the gearboxes, it's up to the OEM to write the software to control them. You don't hear of this issue in other vehicles...
Yea, I've also noticed my truck gets WAAYYYY better gas mileage based on temperature. I used to attribute it to winter blend fuel but being in TX we get freezing temps and sunny spring days in the same 24 hour period during Feb/March. It's definitely linked to temp, like 2-4 mpg swing between...
E15 has about 1% less energy content per unit volume vs E10, but the 88 octane doesn't hurt on the HEMI. BUT, it still shouldn't make a noticeable difference on your fuel economy vs regular E10 blends.
There is plenty of space to hand tighten (which is all you need on an oil filter) with the RAM Hemi. Same goes for removing that same hand-tightened filter. Now, doing an oil change without making a mess...that's a different story.
The factory filter is put on by the resident silverback...
To me it just seems like they are dragging their feet man. If your Lemon Law lawyer feels you have a case I would go ahead and engage them. It's no cost to you, as Stellantis would be on the hook for the lawyers fee.
I'd say avoid like the plague. Without proper sealing and adequate water evacuation out of the roof this just sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.
This just reminds me of the ZF 9-Speed in my wife's car. ZF makes the transmission but Honda did the programming. It had a habit of grenading the torque converter until they did a software update.
The bed doesn't look too bad, that may even be a PDR repair. The cab on the other hand is a whole different story, that looks like it will be very difficult to pull and likely to cost $$$ for repair.
If you're set on getting rid of it and your buddy is offering $44k as-is, I'd take the money.
I believe the Jeep normally has the 850RE, while based on the 8HP75...and it is actually made by Stellantis. It's not as robust as the ZF-made 8HP75 transmissions.
With that said, this sounds more like a software/electronics problem than a mechanical problem.
I don't recall stellantis ever saying anything like this is on the way, with that said it would not surprise me in the least if they put something like this behind a subscription at some point.
I had this happen, turned out to be a loose fastener in the door. The washer was rattling.
Not saying that's precisely your problem, but it's probably something stupid like that.
In theory, we'll see what it looks like when they are actually on the road. In practice the Ford Turbo V6s are less efficient due to the way people drive, it's only better on the EPA cycle.
With that said, I'm quite excited for this engine. I'm not all that married to the V8, as great as they...
