I have the S-Type, and have been able to compare it to the ATAK in a buddy's truck. The ATAK is noticeably (and IMO, annoyingly) much louder than the S-Type while cruising. I would also say the ATAK is only slightly louder than the S-Type when you mash the fast pedal though.

A lawsuit is probably the only thing that will put this on their radar for an actual fix. This isn't just happening to RAM trucks, it's happening to FCA/Stellantis vehicles of all types with the 8 and 9 speed ZF-based transmissions. It's likely a bug in their software for the TCM.
You are correct, for some reason I thought the temperature sensor on the intake was a MAF. Don't mind me, I did not stay at a holiday inn express last night.
The best DI system is Toyota's D-4S which has both port and direct injection and allows the best of both worlds. That's where Ford likely got the idea from.

Range is affected with towing on fossil fueled trucks too. I get maybe 8Mpg on some of my tows. The problem is charging rate on top of limited infrastructure. I can refuel in 5 minutes vs an hour with a BEV.
