The rear does not add lift. You would have to add a spring spacer to get any lift in the rear. The Bilsteins are just designed to be able to accommodate it.
I just prefer the Mopar kit and Fox shocks. Also want the front to match the rear. I’m still debating a 6” lift but would have to regear to run 37s. 35s look to small on a 6” to me. If I’m not doing that than I would rather have Mopar parts.
These are true adjustable coil overs. The ones in the Mopar kit are just the struts and then you reuse the original spring and other pieces from the assembly. These are a direct swap for the whole factory assembly.
I would go with the Mopar kit and ORP springs. That is the route I will be going with very soon. I actually bought the Readylift 3.5” kit last year and returned it. While the same principle applies to both lifts, preload spacers like that used in the Readylift kit typically cause the ride to be...
Correct. The shock will bottom out 1” sooner. The difference in ride quality really should be pretty minimal except for large bumps that extend the strut completely.
CST makes a 4" lift kit for 2wd trucks. Lift spindles in the front and spacers in the rear.
Outside of that, others have used the 4wd lift kits and had some success. The suspension is all pretty much the same minus not having the front differential.
Interesting. I haven’t heard that as a potential source before. I get the noise at high speeds and high wind. I just took my lower valence and retractable air dam off so I’ll see if I still get it.
I have not trimmed the slush mats. Not enough room to add additional spacers without also raising the seat up higher. Once I actually get some days off I’ll mark off where the box sits and trim the mats to fit better.
You have the off-road package? If so, nobody makes a rear coil that will work that way. Your coil spring is an inch longer than a non off-road package. Purchasing a 2” lowering spring wil actual drop your rear 3 inches and leave you a little nose high. You could also purchase non off-road...
Purchase some non off-road package front springs to install and you could skip the rear spacer. This would essentially give you a 3/5 drop since you had an extra inch to start with.
The struts are a different part number but are not what gives the lift. The front and rear springs on the ORP trucks are an inch taller and give the additional lift.
Go with the CST lift. It keeps much closer to the stock ride. The Readylift uses a combination of spacers. The preload spacer will stiffen you the ride.
Glad to see you all are having some success. I ordered on the 12th. Received order confirmation but no shipping. Haven’t had a chance to call yet but will today when I get off.
