The updated kit has an extra spacer underneath the spring seat. If you can see it sticking out, it’s the newer kit. It’s intended to help lessen the rake. Combined with ORP springs it’s under an inch of rake.
The Mopar lift doesn’t level the truck. It’s a 2” lift all around. The updated kit and Offroad package front springs does bring it pretty close. Many people here have ran it like that without issue.
It can be done for under $2k. There are frequently full packages for sale here on the forum. You need to repin a few cables or buy new ones from a member here. You’ll also need an LVDS cable. The hardest part to get is the module because FCA stopped selling them but plenty still come up. There...
Personal preference. Mopar has a dry filter vs Vararam being oiled. Mopar is a sealed system vs Vararam being open and only sealing with the hood shut. The Mopar is built better and not as flimsy.
Mopar may also be releasing a new hood soon with a functional hood scoop that connects and feeds...
$850 after tax from the dealer. Ordering it online is too costly because of shipping. Mopar has a 15% off coupon to use at the dealer so I used that.
I don’t expect anything crazy from it, but the Vararam is proven to provide some gain and this is essentially the same thing but in a closed...
Ordered mine today. Don’t expect too much out of it. Almost ordered the Vararam instead but decided Mopar. Rumored that a new hood will have a functional scoop that feeds into the intake. Bought it with the hopes that comes out. If not that’s ok. I will add a tune and some headers down the line...
They are marketed as still being 2" spacers. However there are a few that are only 1.5" to 1.75" instead. I believe the Wulf spacer is one of them as well as the Rough Country and Readylift top hats. They are just barely big enough to cover the factory top hat studs.
They will say the lift is the reason the strut went bad, and they are probably right. It’d be a long shot to get it warranties. I’d pick up some 5100s. Set them to 2” of lift and still run the top hat.
Ditto. This is the best option. The Amppro is worth the extra money to do it right and allows you to expand your system later if you choose to. It integrates into the factory system and gives you a clean signal.
The Rebel and the ORP both get their lift from the spring. The difference between the two is that the Rebel has Bilstein shocks that have a wider diameter. The ORP trucks can have the Mopar lift installed without issue. It is a direct swap. The Rebel can have the Mopar lift as well but I believe...
I will be adding a cold air intake soon. I will likely be going with the Mopar kit. If not then the Vararam. The Mopar is more expensive but seems like the quality is better. Also Ram has a new hood that will be coming out at some point that is designed to work with the Mopar intake with a vent...
What year is your truck? I have seen a few people post this now. I had this kit on my 2019 and the studs did not stick out past the spacer. I wonder if on some of the newer trucks they started using slightly longer studs on the top hat and that is why we are seeing it now. This same kit was also...
I would imagine you could probably put some additional weather stripping around the hood/above the grill and you could probably keep most of the snow out.
Here are a few pictures. I've circled the area on the Vararam pic where the snow can still work in. With the Mopar intake, there is a new...
