Took delivery of my Limited this week (12/12 build). When I was test driving trucks last fall I loved the HK system but felt max volume wasn’t very loud - but clarity and balance was good. With my truck having the update, I’m disappointed. I agree - the sub is horrible. It’s way too loud at...
Took my truck back to the dealer today. They checked it over - couldn’t find anything. I drove another LTD on the lot and I swear I felt a difference.
I took it on a road that’s a little washboard-y but not bad... I could feel the bumps in the loaner but it felt like I was floating over...
Supposed to warm to “normal “ temps for the weekend so we’ll see. It’s -3 now; certainly not warm but not unusual for January in MN so I’m a little concerned if this is the ride quality I should expect when it gets a little cold.
Man, I hope it gets better or you’ll hear me whimpering from there. A 15 minute drive to dinner on decent but not perfect residential streets and I needed an Advil when I got home because the bouncing and jarring gave me a headache.
First - thank you to everyone on this forum - I’ve gotten a lot of great info from you as I’ve pondered my new truck purchase.
About that. I picked her up today... black/black Limited, pano, 3.92, ltd slip, body colored bumper, Level 1, BUG, 22s. Couldn’t wait to drive away on that...
Would the amount of loss be significantly, I.e. would you need to to recharge the system? If so, how would you recharge? Is there any way to clamp the line before removing to prevent venting?
Bronenosets - if not too much trouble, would you mind putting a tape measure on your tire and telling me what your side wall measures? Trying to to do some real-world comparisons. Thanks
Were you able to you use the front links from the revel kit or did you have to use the rear to get longer?
You mentioned to shop took longer than expected to install the daystar kit. Was there anything in particular that gave them problems ?
Thank you for posting all of this. It is such great news!
What tips, advice or “gotchas” did you hear from the shop? Would love to give my guys a little heads-up.
Thank you. You’ve been very helpful. I started out wanting 22s but was concerned I couldn’t fit 35s, and anything smaller wouldn’t give me the sidewall look I wanted. But after seeing a Laramie on 35/12.5/20s in person today, I decided that was too much sidewall for my taste - a little too...
Great news. Others have commented that the links made the ride much worse. How did you decide on the the ridge grapplers? I’ve been looking at the terra G2s since they seem to have the reputation of being even a little more comfortable that the ridges.
There’s a YouTube of a guy installing the same kit (I think) but not on a 2019. But I keep hearing the parts are the same. Very much looking forward to seeing and hearing about it tomorrow!
