Here is an electronic controlled valve with a potentiometer that you can hide under dash or in glove box if Ram won't fix it and you don't want to adjust under hood manual valves.
.........how many fingers are you holding up when you wave.....1 or 5....Maybe experiment?.......lol.....I have had my Rebel since August 2018 and it is so odd that I rarely see the new Rams on road and have yet to see another Rebel on road. The dealers have plenty and with me being...
I had a friend that always was hard on vehicles. When he was young, he bought a brand new 1982 Chev S10 pickup with 2.8 v6 engine and drove it super hard from the day he got it from dealer lot with hard acceleration all the time revving it high. That truck was very fast as it seemed to respond...
I have air suspension so can't answer completely but the sway bar is most effective when ends of bar are as close to parallel to ground. Mine are close to level even though Rebels have a 1" lift. The fixed links from factory must not be long enough if you have a 3.5 inch lift so I would think...
Not necessarily......Add valves at your own risk and don't cut factory hoses, but if you choose to do this, get ready for 42-46 vent temps and then when Ram finally comes up with solution, remove this modification back to no trace stock plumbing. Heater core is diluting the cold air with added...
Sure! You are probably seeing 50-58 degree on driver center vent and 46-48 on passenger center vent, depending on ambient outside temp. Reducing/bypassing heater core flow will get the vents to somewhere around 42-44 range. Some other members put Harbor Freight coolant clamps on or use a...
Well, this will get your AC cold for now. Great trucks! (at your own risk if you decide to do it and also don't cut your heater hoses so you can return to totally stock if needed)
RamCares........are you reading this? Push FCA to start taking care of the customer, please. Maybe the long hauler should have "accidentally" clipped it sitting dead on side of road (whoops!) with trailer and you could get another new one.
I drove it with variable speeds mixed local and short highway trip for first 1000 miles. After that, started romping on it up to 70 getting on freeway a few times a month. Changed oil at 4000 miles with Pennzoil conventional oil and Mobil 1 filter to allow more break in and then at 6000 miles...
The IR gun probably sees the cold plastic ducts physical temp as opposed to air flow temp that a probe type thermometer (either electronic digital or mechanical dial) would read. I think they are an IR surface temp technology. Here is one of several members workarounds. Perform at your...
****update**** I found out that Pex have unique size and I previously said 1/2" should work. It actually is smaller than 1/2" and another member determined that Pex 3/4" works perfect with 5/8" hose. Sorry for wrong info.
Several members found a clamp set tool at Harbor Freight that pinches hose flow with minimal damage. I have not tried it, but I am hesitant to leave on long term as it may fatigue hose so it won't open back up. Maybe for short term testing and to prevent coolant loss if taking apart hoses to...
*** Here is a 2 ball valve version with a partial/total bypass that adds the cross hose with its own ball valve. This way you can avoid flow or pressure changes from stock levels. All parts are available on Amazon. (maybe auto parts store for hose) Pex 3/4" male fittings/valves just happens...
If you have a probe thermometer, read center 2 dash vents as well as the outside ambient temp. If you have like 58 on drivers center and like 46 on passengers center, the heater core is causing the poor cooling. If you put a temporary non damaging clamp on the "out" heater hose from water...
Great that you documented actual vent and ambient temps before service. With that passenger vent at 46 degrees that shows the evaporator is good and cold. I bet if you used a temporary non damaging clamp on "out" hose from water pump to heater core, you would drop both center vents to 38-42...
Isn't the current unit a redesigned Mopar step? I wonder if that mechanism has more clearance now than original design step. If it did hit it, does it just brush it and still open and close or is it a total block of operation?
The heater core is bringing temp up to 58-60. The AC evaporator and current refrigerant will deliver 42 degrees or possibly colder vent temps if heater core coolant flow is bypassed/reduced. There are several ways to improve your cooling in these threads until proper blend door fix is...
