If you’re thinking of doing this, it’s worth taking the time to read all the way through this thread from the beginning. I did a write up on it a few pages back, but there’s pretty pertinent information throughout the whole thread. It’ll arm you with all the knowledge you need to take this on.
It takes some delicate tinkering. You can release the pin out of the harness if you have a small enough tool to get in there with. Unless you need the lights though, you can just unplug the harness.
A look around YouTube could probably find a video showing how to get into those harnesses to...
I think there are plenty of people who have the problem without having anything connected at the trailer harness. I DO have a connection there, but mine was doing it before that was added.

The other two...
Yeah. That’s exactly what mine was doing. Just an FYI, if you remove the push pins from the plastic cover on the inside and remove it, you’ll see the white harness plug at the actuator/locking mechanism. You can unplug that and it’ll solve the problem. I didn’t like that it also killed my lights...
I think maybe it is for everybody. I’ve been too busy with the holidays and work to take it to the dealer, etc. I wound up taking the electronic release pin out of the harness at the locking mechanism. So it only opens with a key now, but the lights still work. In some ways I actually kinda like...
