Letting my 1st change finish dripping as I type.
I knew from this and other threads what to expect as far as the mess that will happen, and they were right! Filter location is horrible, the baggie trick looks like it would help but I didn't even bother. The great news for me was Thor had the day...
You beta testers....Take LOTS of pics as you remove the cover and splice in. Post how to pics and vids, I'm fairly handy but the fear of wrecking something on my truck paralyzes me sometimes.
If it's as easy as some think, I will buy one.
Dealer was sympathetic to my case and said we "could" submit a claim to FCA but they said they've never seen one approved. Insurance took my call and info, sent me to my choice of installer. Should show up and be installed tomorrow.
Went out this morning and did some errands, all windows intact and fine when I got home.
Go out to the garage a few hours later and I hear a faint crackling sound, look around for a bit and happen to look at the rear door window and its completely shattered, WTH!! Never in my life have I ever...
I had to jump mine twice in a week recently. The electronics inside don't like that, lost settings, electronic gauges disappear. Took it in, dealer replaced battery.
If that cost $400 to add, I'd skip it. Mine has it from factory, dealer ordered option. Not sure on cost when ordering but I'd skip in the future, I have an umbrella and ice scraper stowed in it. I'm positive each would lay on the floor just fine without it.
I had an electric PW for 20 yrs, thought it was fine the whole time. It died recently, picked up a Ryobi 3300 psi with the Honda engine. For 20 yrs I've struggled to clean things and never knew I was struggling. Gas is the way to go, powerful and fast!
Foam cannons....I grabbed one from...
Reach out to Clay Robbins at [email protected].
He easily saved me $200 over any of the online sellers usually mentioned in these threads. (Ziegler, Chrysler factory plans, etc.)
He's an FCA dealer and sells FCA factory plans.
I learned about him yrs ago, on another forum dealing with...
My first change is upcoming, have a fumoto valve waiting to be installed. I read in another thread, some guys punching a hole in the bottom of the filter to drain, thats my plan and I'll report back on my success or lack of
Looks great! Black paint is almost mandatory ceramic coat, I love black but I could never have it on a daily driver, I'd see every swirl and scratch. White or silver for me to keep my sanity.
<<<<<<< White won this time
I'm a huge fan of the newest Turtle wax hybrid line(ceramic). I've gotten rid of all my other polishes and waxes.
Meguiars, Mothers, Chemical Guys, etc, all have a ceramic line, pick your favorite and enjoy.
