Agree with above statements. I have two old F250s at work with plows on them. It is amazing how much abuse a plowing vehicle takes. No way I'd put a plow on my Ram.
Save your hard earned money and don't get BFG KO2s. Too heavy, too expensive, poor wear, bad gas mileage, loud. For that matter, don't buy any E load rated tires.
I ordered mine specifically with eTorque. I think the auto start/stop function works flawlessly, only when it is really hot out with the AC cranking does it refuse to turn the truck off, which is fine. Nice to not have the truck running, dumping fuel into 8 cylinders at every stoplight for no...
I love the knob shifter. My wife got a 2018 Durango a few years back with the knob shifter and push button start.....I was originally very skeptical of those two items, but now with it on both vehicles I think any other shifter is just wasted space, and the thought of having to dig my keys out...
I love my truck, but am kicking myself frequently for not dropping the extra $1000 on the MFT. Doesn't help that I'm a short guy (5'7" with a good pair of boots on) so I feel like it would've been extra helpful accessing things towards the front of the bed.
Yeah I know, we looked at a quad cab. But it felt too extreme the other way. Both kids (9 and 13) agreed the back seat space was pathetic. I have a buddy with a quad cab GMC Sierra that I've sat in the back of for a few hours on a ski trip, and I think I've had more leg room in the economy...
Long story short, I think the vast majority of 1500s mostly get used as a family hauler and don't really do any real work anymore.
I love my 6'4" bed, but there are times the long wheel base is cumbersome. I actually wish they would've shrunk the rear legroom some, my kids have more space in...
Sorry, couldn't resist stirring up the masses since the never ending gear ratio debate was brought up. FWIW, your truck looks awesome, and I'm slightly jealous.
Someone else up above mentioned regretting not get the multi function tailgate. I will definitely second that. I'm not exactly a...
My two cents on your questions:
I like 18" wheels, need more rubber on the sidewalls driving forest roads with rocks the size of basketballs. My truck is not a sports car.
Limited slip is likely a better diff choice for daily functionality. E locker only good for extreme situations (but nice...
First snow day! Wildpeak tires did better than I expected, but still not sure if I'll keep them all winter. Entering the next 8 months of snow season, having a topper is the best part of the truck.
I put LT rated (E load range) cooper discoverer XLTs on my old 2014 silverado. Regretted it almost instantly. Much harsher ride, killed fuel economy, and the truck was way more sluggish turning heavier tires. Unless you tow or haul very heavy loads, get a C load rated AT tire. All the...
Never heard the term mall crawler before, kind of hilarious though. I put a 2" front level on mine, and plan to upgrade to 33s as soon as the Wildpeaks wear out (or if they terrify me this winter they're coming off immediately.)
My last truck (2014 Silverado) was the same setup, 2" front level...
I'm 5'6", I can't even lean over the side of a 2WD Ranger and get stuff out of the front of the bed, much less out of my 4wd Ram. I have racks on the inside to stack skis, tubs for kids gear, and a pole with a hook to grab the stuff that slides to the front.
Additional benefit to having a...
