What did you do to your Ram today???

Starting to work on emblems on the truck. Not wanting to go full black as I personally think that look is a bit overdone at this point. Had to get rid of the chrome though. Settled on a gunmetal look. Lots of prep sanding, primer, 2 coats of paint, two coats of clear. Curious how it holds...

    Ambient temp inaccuracy

I made a tiny nick in the plastic right in front of the sensor, but its under the mirror, no one is ever going to see it. It's amazing how a $5 thermometer from the hardware store can take a consistently accurate reading, but a sensor in a $60K+ truck can't get it right. Frustrating.

    Ambient temp inaccuracy

I've pryed mine off from the front. Correct, there is no slot, the first time prying it off can be very difficult, to the point you think you might break it. I used two tiny screwdrivers (the miniature ones you use for working on eye glasses) to start prying, then got a regular screwdriver in...

Traded my '21 Bighorn "Off Road" for a '22 G/T

Is the GT the only package that comes with with the console shifter, or did all the '22 Rams ditch the rotary knob? I can't imagine owning another vehicle without the rotary shifter, maybe the greatest advancement in automotive technology in the last 100 years!

A little weather porn for our friends in the great white north.

Give me cold *** winter and feet of powder any day. The snowmobiling and heli skiing has been incredible so far. Winter is hands down the best season of the year.

    Help deciding options

Funny how opinions work. Me personally I say get the eTorque, the stop/start function is flawlessly perfect. The 12" screen and pano sunroof are a huge waste of money though. 8" screen is just the right size. My wife's Durango has a sunroof, its been used maybe 3 times in the last 5 years.

    Love my Naturally Aspirated Hemi...

Is it really necessary to lift the cab to access a turbo?

What do you do with your fob?

Keys in my pocket from the second I leave the house, until the second I get home. 1000% chance I'd lose them in less than a week if I took them out and put them somewhere.

How does your Ram do in the snow?

Figure it might be a fun time of year to post some pics of our trucks in the snow, stuck in the ditch, pulling out a friend, etc. I will say I was slightly skeptical of the Falken Wildpeaks in the winter, but so far I have been very impressed.

Lemme know if you buy it…

Here in small town America, I see my old 2014 Silverado I traded in for my Ram last spring driving around all the time. That truck had 90K miles, a few decent body dings, and was off the lot in 5 days after I traded it. Think they had it listed for $35K. I do not miss that truck one bit.

Dang these safety sensors. Can we not back up these RAMs with the door open to look back?

Yeah, this drives me nuts too. Not allowed to do anything stupid anymore in life.

So what's everyone askin Santa to bring em for their truck??

Yeah, summer is awful. Bugs, wildfires, tourists....no thanks. Some day in April when ski season is over I'm jetting down to the southern hemisphere for another 6 months of winter, then back to CO in November just in time for another snowy season. 18 straight months of winter!!!

So what's everyone askin Santa to bring em for their truck??

It's winter. I'll wash my truck in April as soon as I see the ground again. BTW, hoping Santa brings me an rear underseat storage compartment, and 10 more feet of snow.

So what's everyone askin Santa to bring em for their truck??

I watched the install video on the American Trucks website first, very helpful. Biggest PITA was getting the side trim underneath the headlights off to access the bolts that hold the grille on. Some focused prying with a plastic screwdriver is needed. I actually painted the bolts and the trim...

ECO mode, fuel saving mode not working

For whatever reason, I've noticed the Eco light comes on at very random intervals. I can drive the exact route to work (about 20 miles of mixed hwy/city) for weeks and not see the eco light at all. Then one day I'll see it on first thing in the morning, and if I drive reasonable can keep it...

Just installed mine today. Pretty good bang for your buck upgrade for $160.

    Ambient Temperature Sensor

My ambient air reading is ALWAYS 7 degrees high. Doesn't matter if is freezing or 100 degrees outside, always 7 degrees. I have a $3000 weather station at work I use as my bench mark. I've replaced my ambient sensor twice already.....but always still 7 degrees high! I wonder if there wasn't...

I guess I better get a cap. I miss throwing stuff in the back of my SUV!

Get a topper. It's by far the best thing you'll ever put on your truck. However, I will be the first to admit, it definitely cuts down on the cool factor look of the truck without it. Doesn't matter to me at this point in life, the 200 pros of having the topper significantly outweigh the 3 cons.

What have you spent on customization?

Biggest item by far has been the Leer topper for $2,800. Past that: Spray in bedliner - $500 Side steps - $350 Mishimoto catch can -$200 Covercraft seat covers -$450 I like to remind my wife that my spending obsessions are healthy (truck gear, bikes, skis, camping equipment, snowmobile, etc)...

    Rivian pictures

Very cool. I hope to drive my Ram for 5-8 years, at that point I'm pretty convinced I will be going hybrid or electric. Agree with lots of the above comments though, bed looks pathetically small. Also curious what it's tow rating is....and how dramatically the range drops pulling a 5000#...
