Just had a brain fart:
What if Tazer DT sent a signal to enable Gear Limit every time the truck was shifted to drive? This would effectively turn off MCDS (4 cylender mode) that so many people hate. They would sell out overnight.
Z-Automotive...your welcome.
Good feedback. Mine are both held without much tension. I assumed by the comments that they are all the same. I don't transport dogs but the gear I carry wouldn't hold up to the seat slamming down. Fortunately I have a bed cover so the bed is always an option.
Anyone trusting that notched hinge holding the seat up, which takes maybe 5 lbs of force to overcome, is going to hold the seat upright under hard breaking or impact must have slept through highschool physics. I can tap my brakes hard and drop both seats.
The key fob can control numerous additional functions if Z-Automotive wants to add anything. We may not like the complex sequence of buttons to do that, but it's possible. We don't have to give up existing features to add another.
The idea listed above of using the seatbelts as retainers would be brilliant if it works. Might have to buy 2 "seatbelt extenders" which have the female buckles and attach them under the seats. I'll have to explore that idea.
You have to have enough balls to intentionally try to Ram (get it?) someone to see if it works.
Mine has activated several times when I got close. I believe there has to be a speed difference too.
To those who turn FCW off because it goes off frequently...please back off and share the road...
I've noticed this and examined how they are held in place. It's a poor design. A friction notch on the hinge holds it in place. Any quick deceleration will dislodge and drop the seats. An emergency stop would slam the seats down hard and be lethal to small pets.
The idea to strap them up is...
CarMax says they have great prices and top trade.
The truth: I took my pristine Grand Cherokee freshly detailed to them and they crawled all over it for 30 minutes then offered me 3k less then my Ram dealer. No, my Ram dealer didn't make up for the high trade by not discounting my ordered...
I believe the Uconnect system has 4 camera inputs. I'm not sure where the cargo camera would be plugged in. Do the all of our trucks have a backup camera already? Perhaps the front camera input on non-360 view trucks would be used. Those of us with 360 view are maxed out already.
I don't believe Uconnect can show just one side mirror camera. The cars I've seen do this had rear facing cameras. Ours are extremely wide-angle and pointed straight down.
The only spinning I've experienced on wet roads is during a start going uphill while turning. TC kicked on and limited the spin. No instability or fishtailing. The downside of both wheels spinning (a locker) is loss of directional control of the rear. Driving on ice can be a real chalenge since...
You have the Tazer DT (not Tazer) and enabled the "Set Trailer Tow" feature? Maybe I misread the manual.

Set Trailer Tow: This setting is to configure the vehicle for trailer tow package.

The Trailer Tow Package includes the...
The Tazer DT module from Z-Automotive can enable the trailer brake and towing functions just like the dealer does. You also get tons of other functions like speedo/tire calibrate, light shows, operate Nav in Motion, Fogs + High Beam operation, 0-60 ET, etc etc. Displays info on the dash. It's...
Oddly enough, I can't make mine show any signs of drivetrain slack by forcing the truck into 2nd gear and speeding up/slowing down aggressively and abruptly. If there was slack, I'd feel a bump. Nothing. Smooth as butter.
But when I'm slowing down to a stop light and the truck is downshifting...
Enhancements I'd like to see:
Light Show: Add the side mirror courtesy lights to the list of controllable lights.
ZPU: Allow setting ALL options via software. This would be a good work around for Pulsar users.
Air Suspension: manual front and rear hight adjustment. Ability to save current...
