I suspect It has to flicker. That's how the programmer keeps the screen active. By default it closes after a few seconds once forward motion is detected.
You can setup a Custom Light Show with just Headlights and Fog Lights on...no blinking. Set the Custom Light Show as the default using the PC app and then the Fob will activate front lights. They will stay on until deactivated by the Fob. This is exactly what I did. I feed my dogs and it's dark...
Try doing a reset from the Tazer menu with engine off. Several have mentioned that this resolved initial installation issues. The reset reboots the radio.
I had the Tazer get out of sequence with the persistent Tow and Start/Stop features. It kept turning them back on when I turned them off. Was wierd. I did the Tazer quick reset option and all is well now.

I lifted my seats and made sure they were fully back in position and did some hard stop test. Neither slammed forward. When mine fell in the past, they must have been out of position. Looks like the inertia lock works as designed.

The cargo divider for Rambox has two wings that flip out to form the cargo extender. Ram no longer provides the mounting studs but the 2018 Ram studs can be ordered and easily installed. They work great.
And that's why it may appear to not work. Mine will trigger on the bumper of a turning vehicle I am overtaking if I get too close...but will ignore fixed objects like guard rails. Of course, there may be some systems that don't work. It's just hard to test.
That would work for ~45+ mph driving. Might not happen in town where MDS is on more often but you may not see 8th gear in slow traffic. Sending 7 (or 8) "+" immediately after engaging drive would be 100%....if possible. Who knows. Hopefully they can test it out.
The issue is that you have to press + several times to get to 8. It starts incrementing/decrimenting from whatever the current gear is. It would need to happen immediately when going to drive and in first gear or it wouldn't be consistent. Hopefully they can make it work.
