I've been running both together for several months. If you make all your Vehicle setting before installing the Pulsar, everything works. The Live Settings assigned to cruise buttons work fine also (Line Lock, Fast Idle, or whatever you want to assign). The Live Settings menus aren't usable but...
Excellent post. No way will my 3.92 Limited 4WD ORG achieve 21 mpg average at 60mph on a long trip without a tailwind or flat ground. You are proof that these trucks can have good mpg when properly equipped with the right driving style.
Haven't encountered that situation towing but my trailer is only 4500 lbs and hills in my area are not tall or steep. I'm perplexed why it won't shift back to the previous gear if the speed and grade haven't changed from before. Maybe Z-Auto can do something. Not sure if they read this thread...
I think it comes down to personality type and technical ability as to whether a gadget or mod is worth it on a vehicle. If you don't like tinkering with stuff, leave it stock. I always tinker with mine. Benefits include leveling the air suspension with homemade sensor links, more power and quick...
If you don't have the ability or desire to reset codes or turn a socket out on the road than avoiding anything that mods the truck is probably a good idea! The Pulsar can be removed easily and codes can be reset if they occur. 13k miles and I haven't been stranded yet.
All the vehicles I've owned that have paddle shifters to select a specific gear would downshift automatically to avoid drivetrain damage anyways. They where effectively "gear limiters" as well. My Jeep would hold 2nd gear but it was low enough to use from a dead stop. Anything higher than 2nd...
Embedded Digital Controllers aren't known for non-repeatable behavior. I toubleshoot digital control systems and CAN networks daily. The problems are 99% related to physical wiring, grounding, electrical noise, external sensor failure, etc. It's possible the Pulsar is flawed but without...
Has anyone tried cleaning the connector? My Harley got water in the muti-pin connector to the CPU and I chased Gremlins for a while before figuring it out. Cleaned all the connectors (male and female) and all my issues cleared up. My Pulsar has been flawless. Just thought I'd throw in my 0.02.
0.3 isn't a big deal but, by every 0-60 calculator I tried, it equates to 25hp improvement. Folks are spending $800 for CAI and exhaust to get the same result. Not a bad value.
Btw the way, that's about 1.5 truck lengths ahead at 0-60. Most of the difference is felt at 3k to 4k RPM where the...
Btw...switched power remains on for a while after turning off the ignition or until you open the door. Glad it's working for you now.
I should mention that the parking mode and 3 wire kit are recent upgrades to the A129 that require a firmware flash. Most new units should come with the new...
The Pulsar works fine with E-Torque. There's a ton of misinformation on here. Hard to know by reading. Some may not like the sensitive throttle mapping which makes start/stop a lively event if you jump on it hard from a dead stop. Takes a little getting used to but the enhanced torque and 25hp...
That how I understand the capacitor to work. It has enough juice to allow an orderly save and shutdown. If parking mode is off, it should shut down. If on, it should switch to parking mode within a few seconds of losing switched power. That's how mine works. Might want to double check your...
Don't see how. Wide Open Throttle 100% is the same no matter how the pedal is mapped. Acceleration is directly related to power. Advanced Timing with 93 Octane makes more power. The PC doesn't do that.
12.2 for me. The A129, being dual camera, draws more current. It shuts down sometime in the 2nd night. That's a 30 to 36 hour runtime. I haven't looked to see exactly when it shuts down. The truck starts strong so far. I can easily set it to a lower voltage for the rare times I would park for...
The same except fot the -0.3 Sec 0-60 improvement. I tested mine and Performance mode was 0.3 sec faster vs stock. 0.3 sec is equivalent to a 20 to 25hp increase depending on the calculation. I used the Tazer's 0-60 feature on all test. 93 Octane with several back to back runs on the same flat...
None of the "Vehicle Settings" can be accessed during vehicle operation but "Live Functions" can. They can also be assigned to a single button press for easy access. Can't imagine wanting to enable/disable tilting mirrors on a regular basis...but might be handy for someone.
