I went with a filter relocation kit and the Mobil 1 209A filter. After changing my oil once with the ridiculous set up that Mopar has, I decided to move my oil filter. Did the same thing on my Dad's truck. Best decision you will make. I would look into it before you climb under there.
I agree with everyone else, I am new to Ram and missed the bed step on my Ford. The Mopar step works great, tucks in nicely. I was afraid it was going to ugly and take away from the lines of the truck, but it really doesn't.

I think it was put there since lots of people use radar detectors and cameras on the front window. Heck, some people still use GPS!! It makes sense that you don't have to have a cord dangling across the interior of the truck.
