FCA (over the phone) states that this injector cleaning service falls under “preventative maintenance” and is not a “repair of a mechanical failure.” Thus not covered under powertrain warranty. Injectors clogging at 46k miles in my eyes is a flat out mechanical failure. All I’m thinking of is...
So, the truck took its second trip to the dealer today for my P026C issue. Service tells me the truck needs the fuel injectors cleaned to the tune of $580.00 plus tax. According to the dealer there is buildup inside my injectors causing this issue. This WILL NOT be covered under my factory...
Sounds a bit early for a battery to be dead, but I’d get it load tested, it could be low. Most chain auto parts stores will test it for free. Low batteries can cause havoc with all the computers and electronic sensors on modern vehicles.
So, some time has passed and my CEL hasn't returned after another trip to the dealer last thursday. Light has been off for more than a week now and the truck is running fine. Curious if maybe I just got some bad fuel at the same time this issue came up, or if bad fuel caused the issue.
I've been very happy with the Falken AT3W's E rated. I went with 285/65R20's and definitely felt a little hit to MPG but not huge, mind you I have the Ecodiesel and 3.92 gearing and factory 1 inch ride height increase. Power feels fine spinning the larger and heavier tires. I have 35k miles on...
So mine (P026C) is coming and going, seems to be 1-2 days off, 1-2 days on. The dealer service manager updated me saying that this appears to be just a software issue. I'm not completely sold on it, but my first instinct was also to pop in a new fuel filter. I have contacted RamCares and they...
So truck had a visit to the dealer yesterday. Service manager said they updated the PCM and the issue should be gone permanently. Well the check engine light came on 18 hours later. Truck seems to be running a little down on power but only in certain situations. Turbo lag seems a bit more...
Well, this morning my little amber check engine light came on. Code P026C, fuel injection amount lower than expected. Truck seems to be running fine, but I’m calling the dealer just to have it on record. Gonna set up my big scanner later and monitor the injectors for myself on the ride home...
@djevox @Rebelguy2020 I agree with both of you. I may transition to a different oil after this next cycle. I haven’t considered showing the analysis to my dealer, but that’s not a bad idea if something happens in the future. I may run T6 or QS next change and see the results then. I will say the...
Just got my most recent analysis in. 40,000 miles in for the sample. Still running a 5k interval. Mixed driving. 42k currently on the truck. Lemme know what y’all think.
I’m considering it at this point. My truck is running just fine right now (fingers crossed) and my dealer has no idea when a repair will become available to them.
mY 3.92's CoUlD'vE DoNe IT bEttER! lol.
I think my heaviest haul was last year on a big ski trip. I rolled over a scale at 7400 pounds and the truck felt just fine to me. She was defintely riding a bit lower than normal. I pumped my tires up to 40 pounds for the trip. There were 5 husky gents...
Not too much of a climb, but maybe something to think about. Though I can’t imagine this motor falling apart at only 67,000 miles. I will say I agree with a shorter interval though, but that’s just my .02 cents. My last report held 21 PPM of aluminum. Gonna send another 5K sample of Pennzoil...
That orange is quite the color! And thanks the green was my first choice when ordering. I think you made a good choice with your truck too though, and you're making it your own! Inspires me to do more stuff to mine!
