Reading that article makes me wonder what else Jared's source *knows* but maybe isn't ready or willing to share with us yet. I can't wait for the next update already.
I've been reading up on GM's version of eTorque. GM first put this in production vehicles in 2007 and it's now in its' 3rd generation. Now called eAssist, it uses a 115V battery and, although at a higher voltage, IIUC battery capacity is on par with what the Ram has... about 0.4x kWhr.
It seems...
The paint around the bolt hole looks like it's not disturbed. Makes me think this is NOT a case of the dealer swapping parts; that hole looks like it never had a bolt in it.
I have a couple. That's a great article.
Seems like it's on track and they're taking a pretty thorough look at internals; much of it sounds all new. Like everybody else I just hope they're devoting as much resource to reliability as emissions, fuel economy, and hp/tq.
Also seems like we can...
I'm with ya Ric, I like the idea of all that too. I'm starting to wonder though... what's holding this system back? I mean, the paper analysis looks good right; so why isn't this thing producing more noticeable fuel economy results in the real world?
There's nothing like a heated debate between a couple of engineers :geek:
Thank you both for re-hashing the subject to this depth. I'm still on the fence to tick that checkbox or not. Still trying to figure out if I want eTorque. Continually flip flopping back and forth. I'm now armed with a...
I read on the news today that American Airlines and Southwest recently filed lawsuits against their mechanics unions. The airlines accuse the unions of using the inspection process as bargaining leverage to tag planes as "maintenance required" and thus purposefully grounding many more planes...
Thank you! So... Ecodiesel estimated this fall... 2020 MY trucks estimated this summer (with the new tailgate).
Any word on different options or configurations?
If you're not looking, IT IS blind trust. If you wanna take chances with your own life/property, that's one thing, but refusing to LOOK is taking chances with someone else's life/property... and that's never the right thing to do.
Did anyone watch the video Socks posted. Right in the middle of discussing Android P running natively in a Volvo they show a quick view of the Ram... seemingly doing the same.
Some engines are known for allowing oil to seep into the cylinder and puff smoke on startup. BMW K1200RS 4 cylinders were particularly bad. They rolled white/blue smoke for literally a few minutes until it all burned off and did that their whole life.
Hemi's, on the other hand, aren't known for...
Is this Roman? Hey Roman! I don't wanna debate the fine points but would like to say you guys are doing a bang up job! I really enjoy your content. I'm a big fan.
Tell all the guys WASSUP from the 5th Gen forum :geek:
One of the many reasons I'm a fan of the 5.7 engine is that it gives us options. Some engines are known for having bad oil passages which pretty much requires frequent changes to prevent sludging. Not so with the 5.7. Want to change at 3k? Ok. Want to change at 10k? That's ok too... the 5.7 is...
Hey Denny. From the 5.7L engine section of the Durango TechAuthority service manual. I'm assuming the numbers are the same for the Ram; maybe someone here can confirm.
