Anyone have any experience with the Brand motion cable? It might serve as a viable alternative: https://brandmotion.com/product/ram-1500-2500-third-brake-light-cargo-camera-plug-and-play-t-harness-2013-2018-fltw-7627/
Just looked at the 2021 build configurator and see the option to select trailer camera wiring along with trailer tire pressure monitoring now included on the trailer tow group.
I have a L1 package with bench seats and do not have buttons there either. Looking at the build configurator, I selected the L2 package and see buttons. Are they for heated seats? I would think you could order the L2 switch console and add your own graphics / wiring to leverage the included...
I'm staring to wonder myself :ROFLMAO:
But in all seriousness, we're looking more towards destination living and exploration - set up shop in a region for a short while and go explore. We debated a modern class C (international-based diesel) with a toad but aren't quite there, so a decent...
This. I was so excited when I saw a floorplan on a travel trailer site that had this layout (just had the pic with no description). I spent hours tracking it down and then saw the stats...
I like the layout enough that I spent a few minutes pondering a larger truck... :LOL...
Overall weight and balance are the main reasons we've landed on the Apex. A separate bunkhouse, decent layout (we like the added kitchen storage and opposing dinette and couch), and good materials and quality. It's a little longer than what I'd like @ ~34'.

Sub'd. Curious to hear other's feedback on this as well. @TAL2GK did you see this referenced somewhere specifically for the 1500? Everything I've seen references 2500+ (pretty exhaustive thread on the HDRam site). I've been exploring options as well, from building my own interface to bypass the...
You'll find numerous threads on this (or similar) topic and they're all helpful. Eventually, they'll all lead you to the same outcome of you needing to do the math for your particular truck, travel trailer, and family needs.
As of yesterday, we're homing in on an Apex 300BHS...
Great feedback, thank you so much! I'll be sure to report back when we pull the trigger. Everyone has been so helpful and I want to make sure I'm able to contribute as well. We're not expecting to pick one up for a little bit yet, but then again we weren't planning on buying a truck until spring...
That's great to hear how your setup balances out as it's in the range where my math is landing me. Appreciate you chiming in, the feedback has been very helpful! And understood on the weight distribution - the answer is always physics ;).
Absolutely. I was surprised at the weights but after researching options it seems the best ones are in the ~110 - 200 lbs. range. I'm ok with a quality hitch being on the heavy side as I rate that piece a little more critical than other things. :p
Thank you for sharing your experiences and I couldn't agree more. My formula is essentially taking three simple measures to help with our evaluation
GVWR - loaded weight (passengers, basic gear, etc.) to determine my cargo capacity
[TT dry weight + ~1,200 lbs. cargo] *.12 = hitch weight

I tend to trust the engineers and wouldn't expect them to introduce a variable that doesn't allow the vehicle to operate within its intended specifications. Like all things, each owner has their own use cases that are specific to their needs. Personally, I'm looking for a tire that has the...
