So then the larger tires on the smaller 18 inch wheels would be additional unsprung weight, right?
Plus the Rebel in the test I assume would be on Goodyear Duratracs? And I suppose the Laramie would be on H/L Bridgestone Duelers, right?
My point exactly, I’m no expert, just poking fun. But I’d bet that tire size makes more difference than the 120 pounds. I’m curious to see what two actual identical (besides gearing of course) trucks would do.
Potentially very dumb question incoming. The connectors on the end of the wires that attach to each glow plug, do they just pull straight up and off? Or is there some sort of clip in them?
Evening everybody, just rolled 65k miles last week on the Ecodiesel. Truck started a little bit slow this afternoon and the glow plug indicator illuminated followed by a check engine light. Code read P0674, glow plug cylinder 4 circuit open. Anyone ever have this issue before? I imagine it’s...
I was under the impression that the wait we've all been experiencing is because they did design some sort of holder in all the newer produced ones to prevent the cups from rotating and destroying their rollers, perhaps I'm mistaken.
I would try disconnecting or even testing that battery before swapping the whole DEF tank and fill level sensor. Not certain that disconnecting the battery will help, maybe the trucks brain just needs to be turned off and back on again. In my experience with heavy equipment often the fill level...
What these guys are saying^. Chalk test can help you dial it in but yeah go ahead and drop them to 36 if you'd like. You may notice more sidewall deflection when rolling over a curb or something like that, but the tires should hold up just fine even as low as 32 for normal driving. If you were...
What does your door jamb sticker say? I would run them at that pressure and see how happy you are. If your tires are E Rated they will never be as soft as the factory ride, but they shouldn't ride like they are made of limestone either. For the record I run my tires at 34 psi cold, the sticker...
Haven't tried it yet, I have been using Doc's Diesel filters for my truck for the last year or so. However I use Wix filters for all my equipment at work and haven't had any issues with them in the last 5 years. I'd trust their filter on my own vehicle.
Ditto to what UglyMonk3y said, I just roll my front wheels up on a set of 6 inch Rhino Ramps to get a little extra clearance. It's not entirely necessary but it makes it a little easier to do.
Me and my 3.92's would love to help pull this thread to 3,000 posts!
For the record, my previous truck was a 4th gen Big Horn 5.7 w/ 3.21's. it was a great truck too. But I love my 3.92 EcoD. When I ordered my current truck the E-Locker was unavailable on the 3.21 and 3.55 so it HAD to be a...
I'm in the same boat as tom318. 63k miles so not too high by any standard but more than the average lease term in 2.5 years of ownership. No tune here but I would consider one after factory warranty is up. Only ever had one clogged injector hiccup that was fixed by a long drive at higher rpm and...
I think you're correct, In my experience my truck does seem to hold the road a little better when hauling something light back there. Had a few hundred pounds of tractor tires in the bed and she felt very planted.
I don't tow that often but I wound up doing mine at 60k and was kinda shocked at how dirty the fluid was. I assume a lot of what I saw was just break in material though. I'm not a transmission expert so take that with a grain of salt. My dealer wanted 900 if memory serves me correct. Doing it...
