The oil filter goes on pretty snug. I'd skip the torque wrench and just tighten until it won't go anymore (not crank on it).

Could be. Although my truck started this morning at -22 after they did those updates. So maybe it doesn't need the sensor but they are doing it anyways.
I noticed while driving the voltage stays a lot higher and is more consistent. I think part of the update is to the smart charging system...
I'm hoping with the flashes they did and when the new part comes in it will be fixed. It's a pain in the butt.
They said the battery tested fine.

Yep. They did a few update flashes but said a sensor has failed. They didn't say which one but said it should be in within 3-4 days. Will update once I get the final paperwork.

At the dealer now. Trucks been in for two hours. Will update with what they say. Truck wouldn't start and it was above freezing today.

I used to have two SRT Jeeps. I could get 21-22mpg on the highway easily with them.
The 4cyl mode was annoying as heck though and the truck would vibrate when it was on.

You shouldn't use 4 high on dry roads or even wet. It's locked in that mode and when you turn you're putting a lot of stress on everything.
Use 4auto. I believe the owners manual explains it all. In really slippery conditions like snow or ice you can use 4H

Same..girlfiend and I. No sypmtoms for her, mild for me.
Hope you feel better too! I just took my Ram for a drive because it hasn't moved in 5 days and it's cold as hell. I didn't want the battery to die.

I think the bottom line is, use any oil that meets MS12991 spec. Whatever brand you choose is up to you.
Running an oil that doesn't meet these specs probably won't hurt the engine, but god forbid if something happens the dealer will surely be looking at what oil you ran. If they were to find...
If it meets the spec then there's no issues. I was simply referring to my original quote to the poster who said that he was going to run an oil that didn't meet MS12991 spec.

Diesels have changed a lot since the 70s. There's no requirement to run the front winter cover. Even the manual says that.

Do you see semi trucks adding additives at every fill up? No, they gas and go.
If it makes you feel better use them. I won't.
