Nailed it. The cost argument of the diesel is getting old. If we all wanted to save money we'd drive 2wd Bighorns with v6s, not a fully loaded Limited ecodiesel like I have.

What year is your truck? Have you had the latest DEF recall done? That seems to have fixed any hesitation I had before. Several others have reported this as well.

I completely disagree with no advantage towing..you yourself have even said the ecodiesel towing experience is much more relaxed.
Before the crazy increase in diesel prices it was the same as gas, even cheaper sometimes in Canada.
Also only a 4mpg advantage is hard to believe. I had identical...
Yep. It will go up slight hills and stay in 8th gear towing this trailer. My Hemi couldn't even stay in 8th gear empty. They are both 3.92 trucks.

85,000km on my 2020 and love it. Average 26-28mpg consistently, and get almost 20mpg towing my 7x16 enclosed snowmobile trailer.
I had a 5th gen Hemi before and it struggled to get 18mpg empty and downshifted at every single hill. The diesel chugs along in 8th gear.
DEF isn't even a cost I...
Not how I read it. I've never had issues with it keeping warm etc in ambient temps as low as -30°C. Windchill doesn't count.
I believe the 4th gen trucks had issues with intercooler icing which is why is was mandatory on that truck below a certain temp.

They are not necessary on the 5th gens. The manual states "can be used". I haven't used mine and Ive driven in -30°C

Looking at the pics you posted your oil filter doesnt look seated enough. That plastic lip should be flush against the block.
There's a torque spec on the filter but I go until it snugs up, I don't follow the torque spec and have never had an issue. The filter goes in tight.
20psi is normal...
I'd take it back to the dealer and let them figure it out. I'm not sure I've ever seen the glow plug symbol on mine

The filters go on pretty tight. I don't use a torque wrench on mine..I keep going until it sits flush and feels "tight enough"

Bingo, everybody seems obsessed with whether the diesel will save you any money or not.
I'm the same as you, I don't care. I drive 40,000km a year, and tow a lot in the winter. I had a Hemi and traded it on a diesel and couldn't be happier.

Just had my tires off the other day and my brakes have a ton of life left. I do 95% highway driving and drive pretty easy.

78,000km on mine and no issues. I'm not going to worry about it. When I get my notice of recall I'll call the dealer and set up an appointment.
I was just at the dealer yesterday having the DEF update recall done. I was in and out in 30 minutes and didn't bother asking about the HPFP.
